AC Milan Deadline Day LIVE: All the business as it happened

The January transfer window closes around Europe this evening, and there is still the possibility of AC Milan completing multiple deals.

The winter mercato closes at 20:00 CET, and we at SempreMilan will guide you through the final few hours of the window. There is the potential for some late movement, so sit back and enjoy!

20:00 CET – Winter mercato officially shut

It’s been quite a boring deadline day for AC Milan, with the club not adding anyone to their ranks on the final day of the window. However, there were two departures, as Chaka Traore and Marco Pellegrino both left on loan, joining Palermo and Salernitana, respectively.

19:45 CET – TRAORE OFFICIAL

AC Milan have confirmed that Chaka Traore has completed a move to Palermo on loan until the end of the season, and the move could become permanent in the summer.

19:40 CET – Two identified for summer incomings

With the January window looking complete, plans have already been drawn up for the summer as reported by Corriere dello Sport. This includes a move for a €50m striker and a defender that the club are infatuated with.

19:00 CET – Armando No-Chance, just yet?

Milan made a late attempt to sign long-term target, Armando Broja, on loan in the past few hours, as reported by The Athletic. Whilst a deal won’t be done this window, a deal is expected to be revisited in the summer.

17:15 CET – Preferences shift in the race for a striker

Alfredo Pedulla has suggested that Milan may look to other options before Jonathan David in the summer transfer window. The Canadian remains among the options, but the club could make moves for other targets before the Lille striker.

16:40 CET – Winter move gone cold, summer move heating up

Reports from Telefoot suggest that Milan will not be adding Lilian Brassier in the ending hours of the window. However, a move in the summer could happen given the Frenchman’s contract situation.

16:00 CET – No late bedtime

According to what was reported by SportMediaset, Milan will not complete the signing of another player between now and the deadline. Chalobah and Nianzou were options, but as Giorgio Furlani said the club will not do business for the sake of it.

15:10 CET – Renewals simmering

As often happens at the end of the winter mercato, the time will come to address some of the more pressing contractual situations concerning players within the squad and that very much applies to Milan.

14:35 CET – Summer scheming

Moncada and D’Ottavio are planning for the future too and they want to try secure at least one free transfer ahead of June. A Fulham defender reportedly has a ‘good chance’ of arriving.

14:10 CET – Rafael under the Eiffel?

Milan will not budge when it comes to the price that they will demand for Rafael Leao amid reported interest from Paris Saint-Germain, we have been told.

13:25 CET – PELLEGRINO OFFICIAL

AC Milan have officially confirmed that Marco Pellegrino has joined Salernitana on a loan deal until the end of the season.

12:45 CET – A bit of humour

The rumours continue to swirl suggesting that Antonio Conte could become the next head coach, and Telelombardia predicted how his Milan might look.

12:20 CET – LATE MOVEMENT?

AC Milan are still pushing to sign a centre-back in the final stages of the window and Lokomotiv Moscow defender Lucas Fasson has been offered, according to a report.

11:50 CET – Computer says no

Di Marzio is reporting that the negotiations between Milan and Salernitana for Pellegrino’s loan nearly collapsed due to an administrative error on the part of his former club Platense.

11:20 CET – Rossonero to Rosanero

More details are emerging on Chaka Traore’s move to Palermo. They have closed the purchase of the Ivorian on an initial loan deal with an option to buy set at €10m plus a 15% resale clause, with no mention of a buy-back.

10:49 CET – Hunt for a 9

Milan debated whether or not to go for a striker in January but they have settled on making a summer investment instead, with four names standing out above all who appeal for different reasons.

10:27 CET – In Fair Verona

Milan always have an eye on the future when it comes to recruitment, and they have two young Hellas Verona players on their wish list according to Gianluca Di Marzio.

10:00 CET – Chaka’s cases packed

Chaka Traorè could also leave Milan on loan and the most likely option at the moment is Lausanne, a team that plays in the Swiss Super League, as per Romano.

09:30 CET – Marco to go?

Marco Pellegrino’s situation is an interesting one. The Argentine is still expecting to join Salernitana as per Fabrizio Romano, even if there were reports FIFA would block it.

The management and lawyers remained in contact with the governing body to find a solution, updates will therefore follow.

09:00 CET – Leaving empty handed?

Milan evaluated various centre-back targets over the past few weeks including Tosin Adarabioyo, Lilian Brassier, Trevoh Chalobah, Jakub Kiwior, Clement Lenglet and most recently Merih Demiral.

As we begin deadline day, the management are currently not expected to make a signing but there is of course the margin for something to happen late.
