Tuttosport: Milan discuss €30m-rated Italy international during meeting with agent

By Oliver Fisher -

A new idea has emerged for AC Milan as their pursuit of a new central midfielder continues, and it is Davide Frattesi of Sassuolo.

The gap left in midfield by Franck Kessie’s exit to Barcelona is still to be filled and it is no secret that the main target for the management has been Renato Sanches for several months. However, competition from Paris Saint-Germain has complicated the operation so in the meantime the Rossoneri are already considering alternatives.

As reported by Tuttosport (via SempreMilan.it), the Sassuolo star emerged in talks yesterday afternoon during a meeting held at Casa Milan between agent Giuseppe Riso and the Rossoneri directors Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara.

The main topics of the chat were the loan of Daniel Maldini to Hellas Verona and the renewal of Sandro Tonali, but during the chat the name of Frattesi also emerged. There are negotiations at the moment, but a simple enquiry was made, even though the asking price of Sassuolo is €30m.

If the Renato Sanches option were to fade, Milan could try an approach with the Neroverdi to try to find an agreement.

  1. Where does Sassuolo get the balls to value all their players so high. They better watch out or each one is gonna leave for free on day…
