AC Milan have officially launched their new fourth shirt for the 2023-24 season, or should we say fourth shirts given that two versions have been released.
As the official website writes, Milan and global sports brand PUMA have collaborated with Los Angeles-based streetwear innovator Pleasures to make the new shirt.
The fourth kit features two iterations that blend punk, metal, and grunge influences of the LA streetwear brand with the intricate beauty of Milan’s gothic architecture.
There are two contrasting shadowy colourways – a light one and a dark one – symbolising the transition from dusk to dawn and also giving meaning to the tagline ‘Out of the Shadows’.
The two kit versions were unveiled yesterday in Milan during an exclusive event in collaboration with Slam Jam during which Milan players, VIPs, and media had the opportunity to see the shirts for the first time.
The two iterations of the fourth kit will be used in separate games. In the home match against Napoli on Sunday the players will don the black version, while the goalkeeper will sport the white version, then for the trip to Monza on 18 February that will flip.
The groundbreaking design and innovative concept extend to AC Milan’s women’s team, who will proudly wear the kit in the derby against Inter on 17 February.
Olivier Giroud, AC Milan striker: “I am excited to be wearing this great looking kit on the pitch. It is unlike anything I have seen before with two versions that can be used by both the goalkeeper and the players.
“This shows the creativity and innovation of PUMA, AC Milan, and PLEASURES, creating a kit with a cutting-edge design and an amazing concept that truly captures the essence of AC Milan’s legacy and ambition.”
Maikel Oettle, Chief Commercial Officer of AC Milan: “This groundbreaking kit in collaboration with our partner PUMA and PLEASURES showcases AC Milan’s commitment to pushing boundaries in both fashion and sports, offering fans a visually immersive experience that goes beyond the traditional realms of football attire.
“The two iterations of the kit not only reflect the Club’s bold identity but also unite our heritage and our future, merging gothic architecture and monuments of Milan with an extremely innovative design, including elements that are revolutionary for us, such as the reflective logos.”
Marco Mueller, PUMA Senior Head of Product Line Management Teamsport Apparel: “Working on this kit allowed us to creatively merge Milan’s iconic street style with PLEASURES’ distinct edge. We aimed for a design that resonates with both the LA and Milan vibe and AC Milan’s storied history.
“The collaboration was an opportunity to push the boundaries of traditional kit design, ensuring that every element is infused with innovation, culture and the club’s global footprint.”
Alex James, PLEASURES Co-Founder: “AC Milan is a globally iconic team. Growing up in an Italian American neighbourhood, AC Milan was the only team that mattered. My life comes full circle as now my brand PLEASURES gets to create in collaboration with PUMA.”
The authentic shirt features cutting-edge technology to provide optimal performance and comfort on the pitch plus ULTRAWEAVE fabric. The replica version is equipped with dryCELL sweat-wicking technology to keep you dry and comfortable.
The AC Milan x PUMA x PLEASURES Fourth kit will be available in all AC Milan Official Stores, on store.milan.com, at PUMA stores, on PUMA.com, and at select retailers globally from 8 February.
Will these have a different font on the back for the names and the numbers? Or will they be the same ones of current kits? I saw different fonts online but these pictrues show the same fonts as current kits.
155€ the black jersey. Maybe they plan to build two stadiums actually.
I just received an email from the club to tell me my seats for Milan – Rennes have been split for « security reasons ». Now I have one lone seat up the stand and one lone seat down the stand. What a great fan experience I’ll have, alone, with my girlfriend on the other side of the stadium. I just feel like a walking wallet.
I am with you on this point, the customer service for tickets, merchandise, and all other points where the club connects with us fans has gone down so low in the past year, that I can’t help but feel that the whole thing is just a money grab. I remember pre-COVID games costing 20 to 120 euros. Today the prices have tripled. The shirts have also gone up by 50 euros. AND we sell out almost all of our home games. Yet we still can’t afford a marquee striker.
I don’t know if you have noticed, but prices have tripled on EVERYTHING after covid, not just on Milan tickets and Milan shirts.
I guess Scaroni and the other executives live like kings these days. Anyway as long as the fans will buy these 155€ jerseys that probably cost 1€ to make and tickets despite raising prices, that won’t change. Jerry said recently that managing a sports franchise is like managing a widget factory. Fans are consumers, that’s it. And customer service is not a priority. I don’t even want to imagine the prices of seats and food at the new stadium.
This was the first time I bought tickets this season, and also the last time.
My question is who’s wearing the away jersey? 😂
