AC Milan will play a friendly match in Indonesia against Chelsea ahead of the 2026-27 season, it has been confirmed.
It has already been reported that Milan will head out to the Far East along with their Serie A rivals Juventus and Inter to play games in Australia, something that has become a trend in the past few years for the Rossoneri.

A stop in Jakarta
As the official website confirms, Milan will return to Jakarta in Indonesia as part of the preseason tour. The first team will face Chelsea FC at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium on Saturday, August 8 at 19:00 local time (13:00 CEST).
The match represents a historic milestone, marking the first time two leading European clubs will meet on Indonesian soil, and Indonesia holds a special place in the global fanbase that Milan are proud to call upon.
According to Nielsen data, the country is home to approximately 40 million Rossoneri supporters, making it the third-largest Milan fanbase worldwide. It is also the most engaged audience across digital platforms for Milan.
The return to Jakarta offers an opportunity to celebrate this deep connection with a community that continues to support the Club from more than 11,000km away.
Milan played at the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium in 1994 against Persib Bandung, and stopped there as part of the 2021-22 Scudetto celebrations. Perth will serve as the operational base for the team, a city they know well by now.
The match against Chelsea follows the Derby della Madonnina against Inter in Australia, completing the schedule of fixtures for AC Milan’s 2026 preseason Tour.
I’m Indonesian, have been a Milan fans for 30 years, and the first time I was attracted to the club was in 1994 when they visited Indonesia and had a match against my boyhood club, Persib Bandung (a big team with huge fanbase not only in Indonesia but also in South East Asia).
I remembered how well Milan played and that’s how the love story started.
