Davide Frattesi was offered to AC Milan by Sassuolo, but it seems that the Rossoneri have another idea in mind as per the information we have received.
Our colleagues at SempreMilan.it report that Frattesi was proposed to Milan through agent Giuseppe Riso at Casa Milan yesterday, but Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara continue to have Renato Sanches as their first choice target for the midfield, who will be called to make a choice in the next 48 hours between Milan and Paris Saint-Germain.
Sassuolo know they have to sell at least one of their key men to generate some money, and while Gianluca Scamacca is apparently in talks with West Ham, both Domenico Berardi and Giacomo Raspadori look set to stay, so Frattesi could be a valid sale to finance their signings.
Maldini was willing to listen after being offered Frattesi but the initial request for €30m does not leave much room for negotiation. Not only that, but the Italy international is not the ideal type of profile that they are looking for, and the much higher cost compared to Renato Sanches (whose deal is due to expire in 12 months) mean the deal is unlikely to get off the group.
In all likelihood, the Rossoneri could also decide to stick with Ismael Bennacer, Sandro Tonali, Tommaso Pobega and Yacine Adli as the options for the double pivot should they fail to sign Sanches.
