AC Milan publish social media response to Okafor claims: ‘Injured? Definitely NOah’

AC Milan have issued a response to the notion that Noah Okafor is out due to injury via social media, in what was seemingly a dig at RB Leipzig too.

Okafor was all set for a move to the Bundesliga side, but 24 hours after flying out for his medical he ended up back in Italy. Conflicting reports then came out regarding the physical condition of the forward (Fabrizio Romano said he would be out for 3/4 weeks) versus economic reasoning.

As we reported via our colleagues at SempreMilan.it, Okafor’s physical condition was in fact used as a shield by Leipzig. While not optimal, they used it to try change the formula of the loan to a free one and therefore not the €2-3m initially agreed.

It was a decision taken at the last moment that Milan did not accept, thus recalling the player. The lack of a loan fee would not only have meant zero guaranteed money for the Rossoneri, but also would have de-incentivised the buy-out clause.

This attempt to move the goalposts at the last minute did not go down well with Milan, understandably, and they posted the tweet below.

    1. We did the same with Aly Cissokho in 2009, but blamed his teeth on that occasion. Fact is we tried to move goalposts on the deal at the last minute. Worked out for the best though, as Cissokho did not turn out to be that good.

      1. Teeth can actually affect breathing and balance of a person. Badly maintained teeth can mean more naturally-created bacteria in the mouth going into your lungs.
At the same time dental occlusion, or how your teeth align as you bite, can have an affect on your posture and balance.

There is a medical basis to these things.
