I’m currently in the habit of roasting Theo but he slipped – it happens. Then he got up and got back which is what I’ve not been seeing from him. He wasn’t able to close down, but I’ll take the hussle as a positive sign.
Musah is driving me nuts (I believe he has serious potential). Incredible dribbling followed by decision I cannot fathom.
Reinjders too is driving me nuts. He should be feeding the Morata, Leao and Puli not going for goal.
I’ve stopped watching the right defense. No drama when Calabria is there. And he’s even contrib to the offense a few times .
Pavlovic seems hell bent on demonstrating why we should keep him (all that energy of a Rottweiler puppy) and sell him (clumsy as said puppy on a bourbon diet)
Overall we are playing down to our competition again. We are slow and cannot break them down once they are in shape. So … We let them get in to shape before applying the pressure.

Fofana and Pavlovic great first half; the latter did have a couple of failures especially in their goal (while the biggest share of the responsibility was Theo’s) but redeemed himself by earning the PK (selling him will be a mistake). Theo horrible. Rafa second worst, missed all passes, finished poorly a good opportunity. Morata poor too, caught twice offside. A pity that Gabbia whiffed our best opportunity. Calabria is playing well.
The predictable yellow for Fofana keeps him out of the Derby; another HUGE lineup blunder, adding to the one of starting Emerson days before selling him. Hard to understand why an experienced coach like Conceição makes two huge lineup blunders in a row.
Rafa and Puli have both been imprecise with missed passes; Theo not helping; our so-called striker who isn’t one screwed up twice. This way, it’s hard to know how we’ll score a winner in second half. Maybe Gabbia, Calabria or Pavlovic will help the offense; sometimes when the offense misfires, a defender might help out.
Forza Milan. We really need to win this one to take advantage of our direct competitors for the UCL spot having had poor results this round.
I’m becoming increasingly worried about the lack of tactical progress under Conceicao. At times, it feels like Fonseca 2.0, which is quite frustrating. We’re still highly vulnerable to quick counterattacks, leave too much space for our opponents, and struggle with transitioning quickly between zones. Somebody, please tell me I am wrong. 🙂
Takes quite abit longer than couple of weeks to shape a team. Even Fonseca didn’t have enough time for that. We still play the same we did under pioli, difference is we had a striker now we dont
Yes, you’re wrong. No coach who jumps into a sinking ship mid-season can immediately accomplish miracles. So far Conceição has had a positive impact (and has won a couple of essential games which is actually more than I expected) but there’s only so much he can do with such a poorly built team; it’s mostly the fault of the scout and other managers, that our team lacks balance.
Also it’s not Conceição’s fault that our fullbacks have been poor; most goals conceded have happened due to failures by Emerson, Theo, or both. I expect Conceição’s Milan to be much better next season after the summer Mercato and after Conceição has the opportunity to work with everybody pre-season.
Tactical progress is hard when the players themselves are performing poorly and the team doesn’t have enough depth in essential positions, due to scouting failures.
At least Conceição has a good relationship with the players, unlike the disaster called Fonseca.

Do you know how many players AC Milan has had since 1899 who has 50+ goals and 50+ assists? Only four. Kaka, Gianni Rivera, Seedorf, and… Rafael Leão.
Yes, he’s irregular; yes, he alternates good and bad games, but overall, when you look at the whole season, he’s been together with Pulisic our most prolific player. His total of goals + assists ever since Puli was hired is EXACTLY equal to Puli’s (and the same applies to this season). Why in the hell do you want to sell one of our two most prolific players? Rafa often earns 3 points for us, like last game against Girona. Yes, he is irregular and inconsistent; who doesn’t know that? But OVERALL when you consider the entire season and all competitions, he is still one of the two most prolific players in number of goals and assists, together with Pulisic.
