AC Milan secure €3m deal for Colombia U20 star: Highlights of him in action

Out of nowhere, the news emerged on Thursday that AC Milan have wrapped up a deal to sign Juan Arizala, but what can fans expect?

Arizala is not believed to be a name that was known to the media before, but he is clearly a talent that the management have studied closely and have been working behind the scenes to secure.

Fabrizio Romano confirmed yesterday that the deal is done: “Juan Arizala to AC Milan, here we go! Deal in place for 20 year old full-back to join Milan from Deportivo Independiente Medellin.

“€3m fee plus sell-on clause for one of the record sales in Colombian league history. Proposals from UK/Belgium rejected to join Milan.”

The 20-year-old has made 26 appearances for Deportivo Independiente Medellín at senior level. It is not the biggest sample size, but his starting role at the U20 World Cup with Colombo – a tournament they finished third in – helped show his qualities a bit more.

  1. Crazy idea: save some money and buy two actual squad-improving players instead of stacking up on bench-warmers FFS

    1. ?? We purchased some of our best players in history as kids from South America? How would you get a top talent cheaply if you don’t try? You people are ridiculous. We purchased Kaka and Serginho for under 10M, when almost nobody knew of them outside Brazil. And many more…

      1. Kaka was well known and wanted by many clubs like inter, madrid and psg. We got him cuz we had one of the beat squads in Europe back then plus we had a strong scouting team that knew what they were doing. Udinese and Roma were already having talks with Sao Paulo before milan came in …. Again we were one of the beat teams in Europe then. We used to buy the best wonder kids in Brazil and now we try to think outside of the box because Chelsea and the rest of them are buying the best players (including clubs in portugal). Today (and i am talking abt our track record) with the exception of some players, it seems like most of these young player signings leave after a yr or two because or disappear cuz quite frankly most are sh!te

        1. yo that kid above named “Sure” is totally idiot. He thinks colombia as Brazil, one wins 5 WC.. and that kid broke the fee record of colombia league history with 3m. wow why it takes so long to break the record for just 3m lmao.. those kids like Sure are so lovely 🙂

  2. Lets first see him against the big boys but from the looks of it he has blistering speed, great dribbling skills and one hell of a shot. 3 mil seems like a steal if he can make the leap to the first team.
