AC Milan Shareholders’ meeting to take place today but APA Milan boycott – the reason

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan’s key board members will attend a Lega Serie A summit today before the Shareholders’ meeting, but APA Milan will not be present over a lack of communication.

According to what is being reported by MilanNews, the club president Paolo Scaroni, the CEO Giorgio Furlani and around ten members of the AC Milan board are present in Lega Serie A to participate in the Lega assembly.

They will then give feedback to the Board of Directors who will meet virtually this afternoon, during which key issues will be discussed including the 2022-23 budget.

However, APA Milan – the Association of Small Milan Shareholders – have announced with a post on their social media that they will not be present at the Shareholders’ meeting which will be held today.

Their main complaint is that the meeting will not take place face-to-face as it has done in the past but will instead be over a video call.

“APA Milan, after years of fruitless attempts, regrets the complete absence of dialogue between the top management of the company and the majority shareholders with the minority shareholders, shareholders who were there in the past and will also be there in the future, and who are therefore the true heritage of AC Milan.

“Also the only opportunity to face-to-face confrontation, the annual shareholders’ meeting, has been downgraded to a video call, confirming the complete distance of the ownership with its stakeholders.”
