AC Milan squad return to Milanello for day one of preseason – the schedule for the day

AC Milan’s preseason officially starts today, with the first training session of July taking place this evening and a press conference from Stefano Pioli before.

After a break in which players were able to go on vacation and/or represent their countries in internationals, the squad will be back together at the training complex today to begin work ahead of 2023-24.

The newcomers

The coach will have the opportunity to get to know the new arrivals in person, including Marco Sportiello, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Luka Romero perhaps even starting to think about the tactical position of the latter two.

The press conference could also reveal details on new ideas in view of next season, both from a tactical point of view and from that of the current transfer window.

A full list of the players that will be available for day one of preseason is available here.

The press conference

Inevitably there will be many issues for Pioli to address in front of the press. What stands out is the sale of Sandro Tonali plus the exits of Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara but also the situation of players like Divock Origi, Ante Rebic and Fode Ballo Touré.

In addition to that, it is almost certain that Pioli will be quizzed on transfer targets for attack and defence, while also waiting for Christian Pulisic to be official.

We will have all the words from the coach at 14:30 CEST, with the training session beginning at 17:00 CEST.
