Stuttgarter Nachrichten: Milan set to pull off Kalulu-esque signing of Stuttgart centre-back

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are closing in on an agreement with VfB Stuttgart central defender Jan-Carlo Simic, according to a report.

According to what is being reported by German source Stuttgarter Nachrichten, Jan-Carlo Simic is close to leaving the U19s of VfB Stuttgart as he is about to move to Milan.

The 17-year-old centre-back attracted the attention of several clubs with strong performances at the U17 European Championship with Serbia, and it is the Rossoneri who have reached a deal.

The teenager is expected to sign his first professional contract with Milan and transfer fee should be in the six-digit range and can increase to up to €1m through bonuses.

In many ways the move is not too dissimilar to the one that saw Pierre Kalulu arrive. He signed for a development fee from Lyon having not made a senior appearance for them (Simic hasn’t for Stuttgart either) and has now grown into being one of the first names on the team sheet under Stefano Pioli.

  1. Are there not any other adjectives to refer to evey single random young target we have that isn’t Kalulu-esque?? No need to create unnecessary pressure or hype on the player or to defend a signing before it even happens just because nobody has any clue who he is, and the formula worked once with Kalulu. If we sign him, fine, give him time and let’s see what he can do when he gets time to play, that’s it.

      1. Roko Simic of salzburg is darios son though and they are croats whereas Jan-Carlo Simic, is born in germany and of serbian ancestory.
