Journalist claims Milan are monitoring Borussia Dortmund centre-back with expiring deal

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are monitoring the situation of Borussia Dortmund defender Dan-Axel Zagadou, according to one journalist.

Milan’s core of centre-backs is without doubt one of the strong points of the team with the likes of Fikayo Tomori, Simon Kjaer, Alessio Romagnoli, Matteo Gabbia and Pierre Kalulu all capable of playing the position well, and four of them are 27 or under.

However, it must be remembered that Romagnoli’s contract expires at the end of the season and with nothing to suggest that a renewal is imminent, the management must be on the lookout for potential replacements so as not to be caught unprepared.

According to journalist Daniel Speranza on Twitter, Milan are monitoring the situation of Dan-Axel Zagadou, a central defender owned by Borussia Dortmund but with a contract expiring in June 2022.

The 22-year-old could arrive on a free transfer, and he has not made an appearance this season for the Bundesliga side.
