The AC Milan Women have continued their recent resurgence in terms of results, having notched a win in the league and the cup in the last few days.
They had a difficult start to the season as they struggled to obtain consistent results, but things have picked up recently.
AC Milan 1-0 Sassuolo
After the international break, the Rossonere claimed a 1-0 victory over Sassuolo, thanks to Ijeh’s fourth goal of the Serie A season. The Swedish forward made the difference in the 81st minute with a well-placed left-footed shot, scoring for the third consecutive match following her goals against Sampdoria and Roma.
After a hard-fought contest, Suzanne Bakker’s side thoroughly deserved the win, given the way that they played and the opportunities that they generated. It was also a third clean sheet in the last four matches, and four wins in the last five games were interrupted only by the defeat in Rome.
Betting on consecutive wins or clean sheets is a difficult business, but one way to reduce the risk is to seek out sign-up bonuses. If you fancy a dabble on the next game, find out more about Caesars’ rewards here, before you make that bet.
After the game, the head coach provided her thoughts on what was another step in the right direction in Serie A Femminile.
“I think Ijeh has played very well in her new position so far, as she would normally be a striker and one of her qualities is to get behind the last line of defenders, as well as scoring goals, as we have seen in the last games,” she said.
““I think that in the first part of the game our ball possession was not of quality, other times, even in the second half, we chose to dribble when we could have passed the ball and then face one-on-one with our wingers.
“We talked about this during the break and I think that in the second half we improved slightly, we created many chances, I remember 3 or 4 while they didn’t have even one. In the end we scored one more goal than them and that’s what was important.”
