The 2024 summer mercato came to an end last night and in total, AC Milan parted ways with a total of 15 players. Below, we take a look at the departures and the details of each, from the formula to the transfer fee.
While the key details of every departure are listed below, we would recommend signing up for our Substack to get our annual mercato financial breakdown when it drops. In that article, we will outline the exact income for the Rossoneri and what that means for next summer. And, above all, should they have spent/sold more?

In addition to the player’s price tag, Abraham’s high wages are also holding back the negotiations with other clubs. The Englishman earns €4.5 million a year plus €1.5 million bonuses that are quite easy to achieve.
Roma covers the wages for Abraham, it is a dry loan with us covering Alexis’ salary.
Milan pays for Abraham salary, Roma pays for Saelemaekers.
Milan paid Roma extra 1.5 m for the loan because Abraham value is around double than Saelemaekers.
List not complete.

From all of the young players looks like Milan still has hope only for Colombo. He is the only one where Milan inserted buyback clause in case he turns good.
Now we need post about all arrivals and affect on balance sheet of wages plus amortisation
Origi and Ballo-Toure still here. Everything went silent around these two.
Lukewarm mercato overall; Some potential was added in necessary positions in Pavlovic and Fofana, and some experience in Morata, but overall no clear game changers.
In particular, a clear scudetto candidate should have squad members who are in the discussion for best striker, mid, and CB in the league. We have one of the two best LW, and the best LB. Maybe also GK though I personally don’t see it. Not enough unfortunately.
Colombo should have been kept and given a fair chance.
This is the big fail of the summer from the management, the only real income is from last year’s deals (with no capital gains) and this year’s loans are all options with no obligation or underwhelmingly low value. And we still have Origi and Ballo-Touré on the books but not in the squad.
Massive problem for us not being able to get money for Bennacer or any other player. In the current way teams have to be run for FFP rules, being able to sell is critical.
If we manage to get Rabiot and keep Bennacer by either limiting Jovic to Serie A only or selling/terminating. I would give them 7.5/10
Abraham dry loan gave them extra 0.5 or I would honestly rate the mercato at 7… Emerson and Abraham as ST are not Milan caliber players…
