MN: Milan’s likely XI vs. Verona – Maldini to start, Bennacer over Tonali

By Nikita Fesyukov -

AC Milan will face Verona tonight in the first match after the international break and the Rossoneri will be looking to build on their positive moment in the league campaign.

Coach Stefano Pioli will have to deal with many absences, with Maignan, Theo Hernandez and Brahim Diaz all out of action. However, the manager will also recover some players for the San Siro showdown.

According to Milannews.it, Tatarusanu will start in goal for the Rossoneri tonight, with Calabria (favoured over Kalulu) playing in the defence with Tomori, Romagnoli and Ballo-Toure.

The midfield will surely include Franck Kessie, who is suspended for the Champions League match against Porto. Pioli is set to field Bennacer alongside the Ivorian, with Sandro Tonali waiting for his chance on the bench.

In the attack, off a fresh contract renewal, Saelemaekers will start on the right flank, while Rebic will play on the right. Daniel Maldini will replace Brahim Diaz, who tested positive for Covid-19 yesterday. The lone striker will be Olivier Giroud, who has fully recovered from his back injury.

Milan’s probable XI vs Verona (4-2-3-1): Tatarusanu; Calabria, Tomori, Romagnoli, Ballo-Touré; Bennacer, Kessie; Saelemaekers, Maldini, Rebic; Giroud.
