AC Milan’s summer mercato: All the official signings

By Isak Möller -

The Italian transfer window has come to an end, for this time. At AC Milan, one Deadline day signing arrived in the shape of Ante Rebic, while an additional five players were brought in during the summer by Boban and Maldini.

In total, therefore, six signings were made for the first team. Many will agree that they are all important for depth, which has been one of the main struggles for the Rossoneri in recent years. Without further ado, let’s take a look at the details of the signings.

Theo Hernandez

Deal: Permanent, five-year
Cost: €20m

The left-back was the first signing of the summer, joining from Real Madrid on a permanent move (via AC Milan). The player has signed a five-year contract with the Rossoneri and is expected to start once he gets back from his injury. According to Transfermarkt, the deal cost €20m.

Rade Krunic

Deal: Permanent, five-year
Cost: €8m

The Bosnian international was brought in to add depth to the midfield, as Giampaolo more or less only had Kessie (not counting Borini) at his disposal for the RCM position. Joining from the relegated Empoli, Krunic signed a five-year deal with the Rossoneri (via AC Milan), while the latter paid €8m for the transfer (via Transfermarkt).

Rafael Leao

Deal: Permanent, five-year
Cost: €28m

The third signing of the summer. The 20-year-old striker is certainly a name for the future, brought in from Lille after a great season with the French side. Milan paid €28m for the deal, per Transfermarkt, while the player has signed a five-year deal with the San Siro side (via AC Milan).

Leo Duarte

Deal: Permanent, five-year
Cost: €11m

Given the injury of Caldara, the Rossoneri were certainly in need of a centre-back. Using their contacts in Brazil, they managed to pick up Paqueta’s former teammate at Flamengo, Leo Duarte, for a mere €11m (via Transfermarkt). The defender signed a five-year deal with the club (via AC Milan).

Ismael Bennacer

Deal: Permanent, five-year
Cost: €16m

Once again, Milan turned to Empoli and managed to land the heavily courted Algerian midfielder, striking an agreement at €16m (via Transfermarkt). Just like the other signings, Bennacer penned a five-year deal with the club (via AC Milan).

Ante Rebic

Deal: Loan, two-year
Cost: €5m

After giving up on Angel Correa, the Rossoneri decided to make a move for the Croatian attacker. The negotiations took off yesterday, which resulted in Rebic taking his medical for the club this morning (via MilanNews.it). Milan have secured the player on a two-year loan, with Andre Silva moving in the opposite direction (via AC Milan).
