The 22-game unbeaten run came to an end for AC Milan as they lost 1-2 to Napoli this past weekend. However, there is optimism for the future as the Rossoneri played a great game and really deserved more.
Despite being without Rafael Leao, Milan created many chances and really should gave scored at least one more goal (salvaging a point). In that sense, Stefano Pioli’s men should be happy but they cannot be happy with the finishing.
Speaking on BoboTV (via MilanNews), the pundit Lele Adani praised Milan for how they approached the game and the way they played. The opinion seems to be the same among all experts and fans: the Rossoneri deserved more.
“Milan deserved more, Pioli is a strategist. Then afterwards you can say ‘I would have started that player or not that player’, but Milan hit the crossbar in the dying minutes. That move was also built, but Kalulu got the finish wrong.”
“We saw two teams that played football and the losers said ‘we are angry’, not ‘disappointed’, it’s totally different. No one can find excuses here,” he concluded.
The only way to bounce back from this defeat, no matter how positive it was, is to claim all three points against Empoli of the break. The UCL games against Chelsea will also be important to restore confidence and increase enthusiasm among the fans.
