AC Milan welcomed two new creative players over the summer in Charles De Ketelaere and Yacine Adli but both are not performing as expected.
As MilanNews report, the Belgian has so far amassed only one assist and that came early in the season during the 2-0 win over Bologna, while he has only one game as a starter in Serie A since October.
On the other hand, Adli has made just four appearances totalling less than 150 minutes with only one of them being a start, with the Frenchman having become somewhat of a mysteru case for the fans and media.
However, last season the duo were among the best U21 assist-men in Europe as De Ketelaere and Adli – while playing at Club Brugge respectively – both had 6 assists in the league and are in fourth place.
They sit behind only Wirtz of Bayer Leverkusen (8), Sergio Gomez of Anderlecht and now at Manchester City (7) and Mudryk (7), who has just moved to Chelsea. Adli and CDK are also ahead of the likes of Haaland, Vinicius Jr. and Bellingham.
Pioli doesn’t know how to use them both
Pioli knows nothing about starting out any winning circle in a team…his history and records in all the clubs he has managed is so bad and poor such that Milan is the only club he had ever recorded any tangible success! For such a low class coach who has no footballing identity, with a little trouble he changed, chopped, doubts his own ideas! Even good young players wasting and rotting on the bench he wouldn’t use! Milan should do away with such coach!and go for a rather young and ambitious young coach….de zerbi is there, attacking oriented coach like seedorf is there…yet milan racial and bias mindset will not allow them to see the pheromones
Pioli got in the way. He just doesn’t know how to quickly integrate new players into the team and is awful at developing and growing young talents.
if you can’t play them from the start, at least get them off the bench. they need minutes to play.
They were recruited with the label “potential” players. What potential will emerge if they are not played???
Now is the perfect time. they wouldn’t have a bad match. anyway Milan is already worse
I think it is a matter of time. Pioli eventually figures out how to get the best of his players. Problem is, it takes a year or so for him to do it. Perhaps that’s why he never reached the Elite level of coaching. In futbol, years are counted like dog years. We cant just wait for Adil, CDK, Pobega etc to spend a year “getting ready for the coach”.
For everyone going on and on about Adli like he was that good last year, he wasn’t… depending on the stat you’re looking for. He actually usnt bad defensively but attacking-wise not much. For attacking mids/wingers he was one of the worse in Europe. He is ranked in the bottom 40 percentile in passes completed meaning over 60 percent of players are better than him in that stat. Why don’t they discuss that? He also doesn’t receive passes well. In progressive pass reception he one of the absolute worst at bottom 3 percentile ie 97 percent of players are better than him in receiving the ball in a progressive/ attacking phase. He’s also bad at touches in pen area at 8 percentile and non pen potential goal assists at 36 percentile. Perhaps this is why he hasnt been played? To be fair, he’s good at tackling, interception, progressive passing and blocks. But that pass completion stat is key on the area he plays in.
Those passes they showed Adli making pre-season is what everyone in his position should be making..they weren’t anything special. I could and should make those passes with my two horrible knees. So get past that and you’ll realize he actually isnt as good as ppl make him out to be and maybe that’s the reason why he hasn’t been selected as yet. That being said I ALSO agree that it doesn’t hurt to try him or other players that arrived at the club this summer. We won’t know how truly trash or treasure he is unless he actually plays.
