Adli states he ‘wishes all the best for AC Milan’ at Fiorentina unveiling conference

By Ben Dixon -

After leaving AC Milan at the end of the mercato, Yacine Adli has spoken to the press about his move, and how it could be similar to some of his former teammates who also departed the Rossoneri previously.

Throughout the summer, Adli’s position at Milan looked to weaken. Reports suggested that reinforcements would arrive, and he quickly became a favoured option to be sacrificed for the new players to come in.

Towards the tail end of last season, the Frenchman displayed some of his best qualities, in a position he was unfamiliar with, and he quickly became a key player for Stefano Pioli. However, Paulo Fonseca did not see his role continuing in the same manner after arriving this summer.

Speaking at his Fiorentina unveiling, Adli spoke about his move to the club and spoke about his former teammates who also left the Diavolo – his words have been relayed by Tuttomercatoweb (via Milan News)

Did Pioli ever talk to you about Florence? What a thrill to have made an immediate assist for the 2-2?
“Yes, I spoke a little with Pioli and also with his staff. They have always said great things about this club, the city and the environment. I was immediately convinced and ready to come to Florence, there was no need to be convinced. For me or for anyone. I’m super happy to be here and celebrating a goal is always great, but I care about celebrating victories.”

Do you think you can follow the examples of Saelemaekers and De Ketelaere?

“I don’t know if it’s something that always works, but I want to work well. I want all the best for AC Milan, but now I’m in Florence, I work only for me and not to think later that I deserved more. I want to give 100% for Fiorentina and myself.”

    1. Adli 1 appearance 1 assist. Not that he was spectacular in that match but if he keeps on assisting, he’s definitely not gonna return.
