Agent claims Arnault ‘intends to become the owner’ of Milan – the possible reason

By Isak Möller -

Ever since the arrival of Elliott Management, taking over from Yonghong Li back in 2018, there have been rumours about a potential sale. The American hedge fund, however, have stuck around for longer than expected.

Paul and Gordon Singer, the men in charge of Elliott Management, are Arsenal fans and have seemingly fallen in love with their Milan venture. A lot of money has been invested and their strategy is finally starting to pay off.

However, as the club continues to improve both on and off the pitch, it begs the question if Elliott would consider a sale in the future. After all, their business plan is to make a profit from their investments, often quite quickly as well.

In an interview with TuttoMercatoWeb, former footballer and current agent Massimo Brambati was asked about the Rossoneri’s corporate situation. Bernard Arnault, the French billionaire, has been heavily linked with a purchase in recent months.

“One person told me that he spoke on the phone with Arnault and that he intends to become the owner of the club,” Brambati confirmed.

From a business perspective, as highlighted by PianetaMilan, it could be beneficial for Arnault as LMVH are very big in Italy.

  1. Monday next week Rai will air a TV report meant to demonstrate Elliott is not the actual owner of AC Milan, just a placeholder. No sale can happen as long as the actual owners stay in the dark
