Agent confirms Milan are ‘certainly’ interested in Lille winger and are following ‘new Luka Modric’

By Oliver Fisher -

The agent of Jonathan Ikone has confirmed that AC Milan are interested in signing the winger from Lille before next season.

A video has emerged showing agent Marco Branca from the agency FIRS1 Sports arriving at Casa Milan. What is perhaps most significant about this news is that Branca works with clients who have been repeatedly linked with Milan over the past couple of windows.

Calciomercato.com then reported that Milan directors Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara met Branca to discuss several young players but in particular two profiles very popular with the Rossoneri: Jonathan Ikoné of Lille and Lovro Majer of Dinamo Zargreb.

The same outlet spoke to agent Andy Bara of Firs1 Sports about the latest developments regarding Milan’s interest in some of his clients and he confirmed that the Rossoneri like Ikone.

“There are many teams interested, I believe that the market will be released within a month. Now, with the European Championship underway, evaluations are being made and everything is at a standstill,” he said.

“Milan certainly likes him, he is a very good player. He has speed and technique, he can be a target for many top-level teams. At the moment I don’t know if he is part of a list of targets or if they intend to bid to buy him. In these things, in the decisions of the teams, I do not enter.”

In his agency the Croatian talent of Dinamo Zagreb Lovro Majer also stands out, a player compared to Modric in his home country, and Milan have also been linked with him.

“Everyone says he can be a new Luka Modric because he wears the number 10 jersey of Dinamo and the under 21 national team. We are convinced that he can do great things, let’s see what happens next month.

“Dinamo does not want to sell and it is normal considering that he is their strongest player. They want to play in the Champions League as protagonists but you know how football is going, sometimes the transfers are for the budget.

“I think he can leave Croatia, there are Italian and German teams very interested in him. My idea is that they can ask for 15 million euros. Their [Milan’s] scouts know Lovro well, it’s normal. Dinamo Zagreb always launches great talents, Croatia always launches great talents for your league as they have been in the past Boban and Boksic. This is why in Italy they are always very attentive to our football, where you can do better business than in other countries. ”
