It seemed that the idea of Theo Hernandez joining Al-Hilal had fully died off, but on Wednesday there was an attempt to revive things.

With just over 12 months on his contract and a renewal nowhere close, Milan quickly agreed a deal with Al-Hilal worth around €35m to sell the defender, bonuses included. The Frenchman rejected the move, hoping to get a top European club, with Atletico Madrid then emerging as a candidate.
When things seem to be progressing towards a conclusion, Atletico decided to walk away from the negotiating table and instead turned to Andrew Robertson of Liverpool. Thus, it all went quiet on the Theo front.
Pastorello at work
According to MilanNews, a meeting between Federico Pastorello and the Milan management at Casa Milan concluded on Wednesday evening. The well-known agent today took on the role of intermediary on behalf of Al-Hilal.
The Saudi club – which recently appointed Simone Inzaghi as their new coach – are not giving up on Theo Hernandez. In recent weeks there had been a strong attempt for the full-back, which then did not come to fruition.
Milan had accepted the offer of around €30m but as mentioned Theo said no and Atleti didn’t raise their offer. Al-Hilal continue to try for the defender and it is ‘a situation to keep an eye on during the summer’.
