Agent of Dinamo Zagreb defender reveals Milan interest and asking price

The agent of Moris Valincic has claimed that AC Milan are interesting in signing the Dinamo Zagreb defender this summer.

Valincic signed for Dinamo last summer from NK Istra, in the same window that Ismael Bennacer made the move from Milan to Croatia. He has played 28 times this season with three assists to his name including two in the Europa League.

There have been no previous links with Valincic (at least based on our archives) so the interest could well be fresh. However, it is well known that Milan have scouts present all around Europe to watch a number of games, and might even have noticed him while watching Bennacer.

Valincic’s agent Adrian Aliaj has spoken to Croatian newspaper Jutarnji List about his client’s future, revealing that a move to a top club in Italy could well become an option. MilanNews relayed his words.

Will your client move this summer?

“We believe Moris should leave Dinamo in the summer and we believe it is a very realistic prospect. Dinamo did not handle his return to the pitch well after the injury, because he was neither physically nor mentally ready, so he alternated between good and disappointing performances, only to end up on the bench.

“Moris is a player who shone in the autumn, showing enormous potential, so I expected a club of Dinamo’s size to prepare his return to the pitch more carefully. In the autumn, Moris was followed by many top clubs from several top-flight European leagues, and practically all the Italian giants were lining up to sign him.

“We do not hide the fact that we consider Italy the next stage of his career. All these clubs have seen him play in many matches, they have seen what he is capable of, and their perception of Moris remains the same today.

“Moris has played excellently for a year and a half. He’s now 23 and in our opinion, he’s ready for another step forward; he needs it . He’s a player with great physical ability and enormous energy, so it’s only natural that he’d go to a club and a league where he’ll have even more motivation to develop his skills further.

“He now has the necessary experience, even though he’s still quite young, to enter such an environment and take his game to an even higher level.”

How much will he go for?

“When Italian giants like Napoli, Roma, Bologna, Lazio or Milan see you as a player who could strengthen their squad, €15m is a perfectly realistic figure at that level. Moris’s problems haven’t affected his reputation in Italy, nor in Germany, or France.

“Moris is still in the sights of most of these clubs. Last fall, his real value was €15m, our goal is to try to match that, or at least get as close as possible. Given the interest, it’s realistic to think that both Moris and Dinamo will receive an offer that suits all parties.”
