Agent and father of Feyenoord star in Milano amid summer AC Milan links – photo

By Oliver Fisher -

Some eyebrows have been raised as the agent and father of Santiago Gimenez have confirmed that they are currently in Milano.

It was reported just a couple of days ago that the Feyenoord striker Gimenez is very much still on AC Milan’s wish list as they look to invest in a new centre-forward ahead of next season.

The Mexico international has a very impressive 24 goals this season plus seven assists across 40 appearances, which makes him one of the hottest properties when it comes to young strikers.

After all the links in recent weeks and months, the player’s father and his agent Mariel Duayhe have shared on social media that they are in Milano. Could it be for a meeting with Geoffrey Moncada and his team?

    1. Well all players can fail and all transfers are basically gambles compared to expenditures and outcome but its also the same league where van basten, bergkamp, Suarez and hundreds of other players were successful. In the end it doesnt really matter where players comes from and both netherland and scandinavia are great transfer markets with a lot of young talents available for fairly reasonabe fees.

      1. True Martin.
But compared to the greats of past, most of the bombing stars that have come our of the Eridevisie, have flopped terribly or have been poor.
Cody gakpo, van de Beek, luuk de Kong went out of the league did badly and came back to be top scorer and assist giver, Noni madueke has been so poor for Chelsea, Sébastien haller has been average so far, Don yell malen average, Jasper kausen, even Dusan tadic an average in the premier league was awesome after he went to Ajax for that first season and he did so well at the eridevisie before departing for the premier league.

Another potential that flopped after leaving Memphis Depay.

Point is after the true greats like R9, Suarez, Romario. Modern stars from that league tend to be let downs. But I do have a deep belief in Jimenez. Over others like Pavlidis etc.
I believe he would fit the kind of profile needed at Milan as long term no9 solution.

        1. Well i get that i mentioned some of the true greats of the sport and the same can be said about romario and r9 but i wouldnt necessarily say that gapko is a flop. In the end though whether players are deemed failures is also comparable to what the players earns and costs and if clubs decides to overpay its not really the players it should fall back on but the clubs instead.
Obviously there wont be many van bastens, romarios or r9s but something a bit less can also do the job, Yeah im also pretty confident that both pavlidis and gimenez could be good buys but only time will tell in the event we buys one of them.

        2. Exactly what I was trying to say, most of the strikers that have left the eredvise has flopped, let’s not forget Myron Boadu who also flopped. I don’t trust gimenez, and people say he’s been average the last few months

  1. This is the special Milan where the best players always comes no doubt about that the precious club the great club of of all time

  2. I dont think he is worth 50-60m euro . Just 20-30m euro striker . It is media inflated his price making him overhype. For 50m euro you can already bring striker that familiar with italy , no need adaptation in serie A like zirkzee or scamacca
