Agent of Genoa defender reveals Milan have ‘asked for information’

By Oliver Fisher -

The agent of Genoa defender Radu Dragusin has revealed that AC Milan are one of the teams interested in his client, but they face competition to land him.

Dragusin is a defender who has been stealing attention in recent weeks since Genoa’s return to the top flight. The 21-year-old has been one of their best performers after they bought him from Juventus in the summer for around €5.5m plus bonuses.

Alberto Gilardino instantly made him a starter and he has had his faith repaid with Genoa sat outside the bottom three at the moment, which is where they are looking to be come the end of the season.

Dragusin’s agent, Florin Manea, made some statements to TV Play talking about his client’s disappointment at having been sold by Juve and the clubs keen on signing him, with his comments relayed by MilanLive.

“He is a polite boy, he comes from a very good family. He’s disappointed it was sold, but life happens,” he said.

““A possible return to Juventus? I wouldn’t like it, he doesn’t know. You never know in life, even if Genoa will certainly ask a lot of money for him.

“A €30m offer from Newcastle? No, I’ve had meetings with both Newcastle and other teams. Genoa would only sell him for an offer higher than €30m. He was borin in 2002 and still has a lot of room for improvement.

“He is aware that he is now at 85% of his potential. If Dragusin will leave Italy? Probably. Milan and Inter have also asked for information, but at those figures he can only go to the Premier League. No interest from Claudio Lotito’s Lazio.”
