Longari: Agent to work on Gimenez exit as Milan plot Lewandowski coup – the situation

AC Milan are on the lookout for potential opportunities to strengthen their attack, and Robert Lewandowski’s name has been mentioned again.

Milan have a big problem in their attacking department, as Santiago Gimenez and Christopher Nkunku – the two most recent signings for that area of the field – are so far not even close to repaying the over €70m combined that they cost. Both have zero goals in Serie A so far this season.

Lewandowski links re-emerge

According to Sportitalia’s Gianluigi Longari, Lewandowski has ‘strongly emerged’ as a candidate for the No.9 role at Milan. His contract with Barcelona expires at the end of season, and he would bring ‘experience and personality’ to a dressing room that already has Luka Modric.

Signing the Poland international ‘seems unlikely’ in January, but because of Barcelona. The LaLiga giants would have to replace him but they do not have the financial resources to plan a major mid-season investment.

They’ll make a big signing in the summer for the centre-forward position, clearly planning for life without Lewandowski, but one in the winter is not budgeted for. The value from the sale of the 37-year-old would not be sufficient to cover the cost of a potential replacement.

Agent Rafaela Pimenta is on the lookout for a solution for Santiago Gimenez, who is struggling for form and is now injured. It is possible that she could assist Milan in this sense too, by bringing them a player to replace the Mexican who can perhaps guarantee a bigger output.

  1. This writer is evil he just wants to complicate issues and bring the moral of our striker down
We don’t need this now let the player settle and stop writing garbage to make him feel uncomfortable please
To me Gimenez has done good and the goals will be flowing very soon
Leave Milan players alone. Last time all of you journalists descended on Leao and immediately he made that great pass against Roma you all started singing his praises. Leave us alone please

  2. Could have bought 1 top striker. Instead we got 2 bums for 70+m with Nkunku and Santi. Get Lewa and bring back Camarda to sub and learn from Lewa.

  3. Lewandowski is not the answer. He’s a stop gap. At this rate you might as well bring Giroud back.

I would attempt for Vlahovic in January since he’s in his last year.

  4. While Nkunku has barely played much minutes, Gimenez on the other hand has played/started almost every game. Nkunku needs more time before writing him off…but yes Gimenez should be on his way out. Sometimes a short term fix is what is needed. I’ll take Lew all day long. He is a player that scores wherever he goes and I believe he would thrive in this Milan line-up.

    1. He has over 2 full games already. He is still visibly out of shape (fat). He can’t outpace or dribble anyone as he isn’t playing in the veterans league where they roast a pig after every game…

  5. Lewandowski is not coming to Milan. Delusional reports. He publicly said he wants to stay at Barcelona and will reduce his salary to do that.

    1. Barcelona will look at the market, realise they don’t have the money and sign him for another year until they collect extra funds for the new CF.

    2. And forgot to add, I really don’t like his attitude. He isn’t Modric, but quite the opposite. Had a manager of Poland fired because he is a drama queen and thinks no one else can be captain. No thank you!!!!
