Agent of Lukaku confirms there are ‘no ongoing talks’ with Milan

AC Milan are on the verge of selling Sandro Tonali to Newcastle for €80m and will have to decide where to reinvest. Romelu Lukaku’s name was quickly mentioned but those rumours have been denied.

Milan are indeed in search of a striker and it seems Marcus Thuram is just one step away from the club, having rejected the offer of Paris Saint-Germain. Therefore, many were surprised to hear Lukaku’s name in relation to the Rossoneri.

Lukaku is owned by Chelsea but wants to stay at Inter, although those negotiations are proving to be difficult. In any case, as confirmed by the striker’s agent Sebastien Ledure to Fabrizio Romano, there are no talks with Milan.

“No talks ongoing with AC Milan. Romelu wants to stay in Europe; confirmed this by not joining Saudi now. Chelsea position: interested clubs have to present a firm offer. Inter have the ball in their court,” he said.

Milan already have Olivier Giroud and with the potential arrival of Thuram, they wouldn’t really need the Belgian striker. Earlier today, in fact, Sky Italia (via MilanEye) stated that the Lukaku interest seemed more like a provocation to Inter.
