The agent of Sergej Milinkovic-Savic has admitted that AC Milan are among the clubs who would be interested in signing the Lazio midfielder, but admitted his client is currently ‘too expensive’.
Milinkovic-Savic is under contract with Lazio until 2024 but continues to be heavily linked with an exit given how well he has performed for the Aquile during his time there. However, he has so far been priced out of a move.
Milan have regularly being linked with the Serbia international and back in the summer of 2018 the Rossoneri – when Leonardo was technical director – offered €120m to sign the midfielder after a season in which he had racked up 12 goals and 3 assists in the league.
Mateja Kezman – the agent of Milinkovic-Savic – spoke to the newspaper Corriere dello Sport about his client’s future and during the interview he also mentioned Milan as a possible team interested in the player.
“But the reality, at the moment, is that the Sergej operation is too expensive. The same goes for Milan. Pioli loves the player, everyone in the club. I have great respect for Maldini, first as a player and now as a director, an honest and straightforward person,” he said (via MilanNews).
Oh please stop! Leonardo offered €120m and Lotito said no? What was he expecting? €121m?
Anyway, if this was/is true then it just helps you to appreciate the work of Maldini and Massara, also it helps you to understand why Leonardo can’t keep a job even at PSG.
SMS is great player and I have no doubt he would be a great addition to any club, but he was never, ever worth the money Lotito and Kezman were throwing around. Even when we offered 120M he was not worth half of that.
In 2023 he will enter his last year of contract and he will either be sold dirt cheap or he will leave on free. So it pointless throwing away money on him now.
Lazio will never get +100M€ for him. He’s a good player but not THAT good.
Elliot give leonardo 120m euro for one player? That would be scam news, elliot even dont want to sign player that just 1-5m euro more from their offer. SMS are good player , i believe he will be good if we use 4321 with SMS ,tonali,bennacer trio midfield , leao – CDK as duo and striker giroud/ibra. But dealing with lotito always tough , no point to pay him more than 30m euro for SMS next season due to 1 years left contract
