Ever since recovering from his knee injury last year, Andrea Conti has struggled to find playing time under two different managers at AC Milan. However, his agent believes that this is about to change.
“For Andrea, I expect a bit of luck after all the misfortune, then the revival will come. I don’t think anyone has doubts about his qualities, I’d like to see the player we admired at Atalanta,” Mario Giuffredi told TMW Radio (via MilanNews.it).
Davide Calabria is currently ahead of the former Atalanta man in the pecking order, consistently playing over the last two seasons. However, after getting a red card against Genoa, the spot is up for grabs.
The Rossoneri will face Lecce next week and it will be the first game for new manager Stefano Pioli. Luckily, Conti hasn’t been called up for international duty and will thus get more time to work with the new boss.
Hopefully, he can replicate the performances he had at Atalanta as Milan will need a good win against Lecce, thus easing some of the immense pressure from the fans. At least, the leadership needs it to breathe a sigh of relief.
