The agent of Fabio Borini – Roberto De Fanti – has failed to rule out the possibility of his client leaving AC Milan in the January window.
Milan have struggled to start the season, losing seven of their first 12 games including three out of five under Stefano Pioli, something which has shocked most sports betting outlets.
Sky Italia reported Peppe Di Stefano recently claimed (via MilanNews.it) that Borini could be set to depart Milan in the winter window due to a lack of playing time.
He has not played since the second game of the season and has featured for just 70 minutes of league action thus far despite his versatile nature.
New head coach Stefano Pioli doesn’t appear keen on using Borini in any position, and in January it is possible that the 28-year-old could part with Milan after a year and a half.
De Fanti spoke to Sportitalia about the future of Borini, and his words were transcribed by MilanNews.it.
“Fabio is still only 28 years old and has played in important teams like Chelsea, Liverpool, Roma and Milan. He is a player accustomed to certain levels and standards,” he said.
“It’s a real shame. In England, when it comes to Milan, one always thinks of the winning team of Sacchi and Capello. It is a pity to see Milan in this situation.”
Borini has made 75 appearances for Milan in all competitions since joining, scoring eight goals and amassing five assists.
