Agent of Kessie discusses possibility of move to Napoli and rumours of Milik swap deal

By Oliver Fisher -

The agent of AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie has appeared to tease Napoli over the potential of a move for his client this summer.

Despite having been virtually an ever-present in the starting XI since his arrival from Atalanta back in 2017, Kessie continues to be linked with a possible exit in the upcoming transfer window.

A number of different Premier League teams have been linked since last summer, while La Repubblica (via MilanNews.it) reported that Milan are going to use the Ivorian in a bid for Napoli striker Arkadiusz Milik.

They claimed that the Rossoneri management are ready to off Kessie plus cash to try and reach Napoli’s €40m asking price for the Polish forward, suggesting the 23-year-old is deemed as sellable by Milan.

Now, George Atangana – Kessie’s agent – has spoken to Radio Punto Nuovo about the future of client and he began by addressing the rumours of a possible move to Naples.

“Gattuso has the ability to forge a strong relationship with his players. He particularly bonded with Kessie, but that is purely a personal thing between them,” he said (via Calciomercato.com).

“I have not received any phone calls from anyone at Napoli regarding Kessie, although I am still in contact with Gattuso and speak to him often for various reasons.

“Kessie-Milik swap? That is a question you should ask the directors of both clubs. The option has never been presented to me, so I cannot make a comment on a hypothetical proposal.

“Napoli were the first club to make an offer for Kessie with Cristiano Giuntoli many years ago, so they’ve always been interested, but the negotiations aren’t with me, they have to be between the clubs.”
