The agent of Watford winger Gerard Deulofeu has once again opened the door for a potential return to AC Milan for his client in the future.
Deulofeu arrived at the Rossoneri from Everton back in 2017 on a six-month loan deal, making 18 appearances in total, scoring four goals and adding three assists.
A number of outlets claimed that Milan were looking to make it a permanent deal, however former club Barcelona exercised their buy-back clause on him.
After struggling for opportunities back at the Camp Nou, Deulofeu joined Watford in January 2018, where he has netted 17 goals and added nine assists in 63 games (all competitions) since, as per transfermarkt.
The Spaniard’s agent – Albert Botines – came out in November and admitted that Deulofeu would welcome a return to San Siro at some point in the future.
Now, Botines has offered an update on his client’s future in an interview with MilanNews.it, again seemingly confirming a potential return could happen.
“A Milan return? In January I don’t think it’s possible because he is engaged in a relegation fight with Watford and is focused on the team,” he said.
“We will see what will happen in the summer market, but to date there have been no contacts with the Milan managers for a return to AC Milan.
“He has great respect for Milan and has a beautiful memory, when he was at Milan he was really happy and it was a good experience.”
