Agent reveals details about recent Milan meeting: “Maldini knows him very well”

By Isak Möller -

Having signed their respective renewal, Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are now working hard on reinforcing the team. One of the targets that have filtered in recent days is Benjamin Sesko, a young RB Salzburg striker.

Just a few days ago, the 19-year-old’s agent Elvis Basanovic had a meeting with Maldini at Casa Milan (see photo here). Immediately, news outlets started to link Milan with Sesko, who bagged 10 goals and 7 assists this past season.

Speaking in an interview with salzburg24.at, as cited by Calciomercato.com, Basanovic revealed that Sesko indeed was one of the (inevitable) talking points during the meeting. He also stated that Maldini knows everything about him.

“I talked to Paolo Maldini about many things. Obviously, the name Benjamin Sesko also came up. Maldini knows him very well and knows everything about him. In the next five-six years, Sesko will be one of the best strikers in Europe. He currently has everything he needs for his development at Salzburg,” he stated.

Given that Milan have Divock Origi and Olivier Giroud for the centre-forward position, Sesko could be a name for the future. Zlatan Ibrahimovic could also be back for the second half of the season, meaning the competition would be very tough this season.

  1. So Maldini contacts an agent, then the agent immediately goes to the media, to raise the price of player and negotiate better.

but funny thing is, as for now Milan never bought any player that goes to the media. Vlasic, faivre are few examples.

  2. Milan needs to hire whoever is in charge of Red Bull scouting department. They keep finding these gems from all over the world, not just France like our scouting department .
Kid look like a beast , big, strong, physical, fast , with very good technique and great finishing .

    1. There is a big difference. They are in Austrian league where those kids can play in the first team. A lot of them are on every scout list but when they see Mane, Haaland etc that went to Salzburg as kids, played in CL at 18, 19 years of age + made big careers it is easy to pick them. They have prefect training conditions and are generally top developing club in Europe. Dinamo Zagreb has a similar outlook, even weaker league so quality 16-17 year old players can get into the first team. Kovačić was playing at 16, Olmo 17, etc. They have no reason to go to Milan or Real and be forgotten through their youth ranks because they bought someone else for that position.

      1. Someone is talking about scouting department and you spent all your energy to educate him on league structure.

        1. Yes, because it is 100% connected. If you did not understand that from reading then I can’t help you, no one can really.

          1. Well, I envy you in a way though.
Here I am, my brain is almost filled to capacity, but there you are, with a brand new brain, not up to 10% capacity used.
            Please try to use it.

            Now,
            For education purpose,
It’s just like someone wished Milan hire the then RB Leipzig and Salsburg Sporting Director, and my immediate response is to educate him on the league structure, that’s gross stupidity.

Everyone knows, RedBull as a company is the brain behind the success of RB Leipzig and Salsburg, it’s not a question league structure, but a question of RedBull recruitment policy, from scouts to sporting director, everyone is a master in his field.

Remember when Ragnick took over as manager at Man Utd, and he asked for the scout report from the scouting department, he was shocked there was no report on Christopher Nkuku, a big club like Man U, has the resources to efficiently scout at least Europe and discover gems in all those leagues, Nkuku was the next big thing after Halaand in Germany, and for Man U scouting department to not know about him, made Ragnick recommend the sack of the Head, International global scout and other staff in the scouting department.

It is Ragnick’s competence in this regard in helping Man U setup their scouting department, that made Man U make a compromise to still engage his services in other capacity rather than an outright sack which he declined.

RB Leipzig and RB Salzburg, has the same or similar business models, one is Austria while the other is in Germany, which means it can be birthed in Italy or England or any otner league.

Having a good scouting department has nothing to do with league structure, rather it is the business model and recruitment policy of the club ownership.

You made me write an epistle, but if doesn’t suffice, I’m only human, I may not be able to help your life.
If you love AC Milan, then I see you as a brother.
