CM: Agreement on Giroud contract extension likely to come in February

By Euan Burns -

The agreement on a new contract at AC Milan for French striker Olivier Giroud is likely to arrive in February 2023 with there being little doubt over whether that agreement will be found.

As has been reported by Calciomercato.com, it is expected that it will take just one meeting for the player and the club to come to an agreement on his extension and that is why there is no major rush.

He is currently away with France at the 2022 Qatar World Cup where he has already scored three goals. Many fans want an agreement straight away on the new deal but it is reassuring that the player and the club have no fear that they will not continue together.

The expectation is that the 36-year-old will stay with the Rossoneri for another two seasons and ideally help to bleed a younger striker who can be his replacement in the long run.
