Ajax confirm talented striker will leave – Milan, Juventus and Dortmund at the window

By Oliver Fisher -

Ajax have confirmed that striker Brian Brobbey will not be renewing his contract with the club, amid links with a move to Milan.

There have been suggestions that Milan will move in the summer transfer window to try and sign a new striker, especially if Mario Mandzukic were to not extend his deal and also depending on the future of Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Pietro Balzano Prota reported in December that Milan are in talks with Mino Raiola about Brian Brobbey, and 18-year-old centre-forward who plays for Ajax and has a contract which expires in June 2021.

As MilanLive reports, Ajax’s sporting director Marc Overmars has virtually announced his exit: “We think it’s a shame that he leaves, we have done everything to keep him longer at Ajax. He chose to play football elsewhere after the summer. It’s hard for me to accept, but it’s his decision.”

Brobbey has shown off his ability with the Ajax youth academy  and the excellent relations with Mino Raiola could give Milan a preferential lane, but other teams ready to take advantage too. Juventus are certainly one of them, as are Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig.
