AC Milan seemed to be progressing with a move for Manuel Akanji this week. However, the Manchester City defender said no.
The need for another defender came around last weekend, after a meeting between Igli Tare and Massimiliano Allegri. A few names were thrown around, but that of Akanji took the lead quite quickly, and negotiations took place in the final days of August.

An agreement was reached with Manchester City, leading Milan to begin negotiations with the player. However, no agreement could be reached, with the Swissman not moving his salary requests and preferring a move to the Champions League.

Akanji still heads to Milano
Despite this, though, he will still play at San Siro next season. Fabrizio Romano, in the past few minutes, states that the defender has agreed on a move to Inter, with things advancing very quickly in the past few hours.
He will move to the Nerazzurri on loan, though the club will have the option to make the deal permanent next summer for €15 million. However, if they win the Scudetto, with him playing regularly, that option will be made obligatory.
Back at Casa Milan, the Rossoneri had moved on to Joe Gomez after the rejection, but even that deal seems difficult to finalise now.

Inter are far better in the dark arts than we are…
Inter are playing champions league football this season unfortunately. We reap what we sow.
they still mad we’ve got Ricci
🍿🍿🍿🍿
What the f***…I give up. See you next summer…
Ah dirty Marota, always keeping one eye on us. Sorry, couldn’t help myself.
Lmaoo that was funny!!
Hope he breaks his Leg 🦵 in 6 parts 😈
Made my day
THAT one eye too 😅
Ahahahahahahahaha, that was a great point
This club is a show of shame and reproach. What a disgrace has this club turned to?
The fans should better be prepared for the worst.
RUBENTUS just signed LUIS OPENDA and EDON ZHEGROVA.
I don’t really think that Milan will qualify for the CL next season 😡😭
Zhegrova is a story on its own. If they manage to change his head, then he can be a champion, otherwise enjoy the show LOL
Two players you haven’t seen play. Calm down.
Another slap in our face!
He wants to play UCL. Not sure how we’re supposed to get around that fact.
And doesn’t want to reduce his wages to join Milan? I can predict Inter did not call him and say: “We want you but you need to reduce your wages to join us”. And Milan did, of course he said no. What is the incentive to join a club that isn’t in CL and wants to pay you less?
Do me a favor, go to Inter site and complain. We have not time… Akanji who? He is close to retirement. We need better players then him
better player than Akanji? do u believe we’ll sign better CB than him?
Akanji is even better than Chelsea best CB let alone their backups considering our priority is them
I don’t give a F what you have time for or no. If you don’t have time maybe don’t come here? Genius.
Inter get Akanji and we get some nobody from nowhere, may as well have just kept Terraciano !!!!
Or not sold Thiaw. But that’s the price of no UCL play.
Yeah, unexpected but…we also signed a guy that was good at Leipzig 4 years ago and Juventus got the guy that killed at Leipzig for the past 2 years and is 3 years younger. For the same price but they got a loan with option. Seems like Tare is an amateur in this after all…
I’ll forgive him only if he gets Vlahovic or better. Dovbyk is a mediocre player…
Juventus signed a guy that killed at Leipzig for the past 2 years…..
Dovbyk is a mediocre player….
Let’s compare their last 2 seasons
Openda
23/24. 28 goals 7 assists
24/25. 13 goals 11 assists
Dovbyk
23/24. 25 goals 10 assists
24/25. 17 goals 4 assists
One of them killed, the other Sure is mediocre.
When did Dovbyk play at Leipzig? 😀 Try again. At least you got the numbers correctly. Improvement. Hint “we also signed a guy that was good at Leipzig 4 years ago…”
They have around the same numbers and Dovbyk played in both years in a better and tougher league but according to Sure one of them killed while the other is mediocre.
If you try to comment less with focus more on quality of comments instead of quantity you might not post ridiculous comments.
If you could read with understanding it would be great. But you can’t. No point in even trying to explain. Have a good day!
Just ignore Sure. He’s desperate to feel like a special genius analyst. He’ll be quiet if you just pretend he’s not there
Ian, why are you so insecure that you have to try and tell other people what to do? Grow a pair, let others decide for themselves, they don’t need advice from a stupid liar. You are both a mo*on that miss understood half of the things I wrote and tried to accuse me of racism and a liar. Proven. And now you have to watch Rabiot in a Milan shirt. Amazing!
You don’t compare a fast striker with a penalty box piece of wood. That should be obvious?
Maybe you should understand that you compared 2 strikers.
Oh you don’t compare a fast striker with a penalty box wood, but the mediocre wood has the same numbers as the fast striker in better leagues.
And if you actually understand what Milan needs you’d realize that Milan doesn’t need a fast short striker, but a tall striker that can wrestle with big serie A defenders. Baschirotto destroyed Gimenez in the first game.
You should stop responding just take the L and quit embarrassing yourself further because your ridiculous comment was easily disproved.
And did you include other stats? You know when you look at Openda you can see he dribbles much more, he creates x10 chances, he is a way more useful player in his role in most situations in any game? So he has better numbers actually in goals + assists and then in every other possible stat also. Progressive carries obviously, but even receiving progressive passes he is doing it more than Dovbyk, the “target man” and better. More shots on target per 90 minutes, same shots on target % as the guy that is supposed to be the finisher inside the box, x10 fouls committed on him, and so on. Every single stat he is better. Defensively? x20 from Dovbyk, tackles, balls taken away, take your pick. And the best part, even aerial duels won Dovbyk has only 2% more. This is the great player target man? Openda is 177 CM, he wins about the same % of aerial duels as this super center forward? That is why you don’t compare it. Incomparable. Comprende? You don’t even understand half of the things I just wrote. I was talking about Nkunku. Comparing Nkunku to Openda. What was disproved? You didn’t even understand what I wrote. I had to draw it out for you. And you still won’t get it. Baš si tele, ali najgore vrste.
dude said flop ST who is “Liepzig ST 4y ago” & u said “we don’t need fast short ST”,
so both of u have just agree in same think & it’s about same person.
we unfortunely just sign flop & criple short fast ST who were in Liepzig 4y ago
You only know how to use what suits you. I told you nicely, those 2 you don’t compare. It is stupid, a bit less than you. Now beat it.
And you know what is most important Milan or МИЛАН? He stayed at Roma. Don’t care about Dovbyk, thankfully he is not a Milan player. Enjoy watching him be a deadwood at Roma.
THIS is definity NOT GOOD NEWS ! Losing a player that would have seriously strengthen our back line (so needed) and seeing him go elseway in the league.
Apparently OM are trying for Pavard on loan. I see 1% chance Marota to be stupid enough to sell a defender to us, but I wouldn’t be mad if we could snatch him.
Why did we sell thiaw again?
I wasn’t against it as we sold him for 40M, which is way above his value and he was already a fan-favorite to blame in defense. But it seems no one else is willing to come – I don’t even think it’s a matter of money. Maybe we ask T. Silva to rejoin us before his retirement…
Because he requested it for the exit. Milan offered a renewal
Milan made the move, he made the choice. No hard feelings. Premier league teams pay most of the players they sign crazy money, which is not sustainable in other leagues. A player, who’s not a part of the coach’s plan for the season, still wants to earn the same salary, and play for a team in the champions league. That, again, is his choice. Juventus was relegated to Serie B years ago. A lot of their star players went with them. A year later, they came back, and, the rest is history. Milan is a giant; maybe, a sleeping one for now.
Ac Milan are now scouting players for Inter Milan.
This is another retired player. Man City only allowed players who has passed there prime to go
Milan fans cry over everything. I don’t know how you guys are. Anyways remember when they tipped us to sign Taremi? Where is he now. Please let’s just stop all these ranting and support our team. Otherwise go to the bank, collect a loan and purchase the club and then keep spending without any income
Nice cherry-pick, what about Thuram? You didn’t use him as an example? Where is he now?
My brother, don’t mind those lousy kids
Well of course CL is a big factor in this.
However there is no doubt, the current state of Milan –
The fan protests
Finishing 8th
Selling our stars
Disharmony in management
Sporting director throwing players under the bus
There are a lot of red flags for a player like him who has options.
Essentially Milan has become like Man Utd an unhappy and poorly run institution
So we may get used to the likes of Akanji and Hoijlund not wanting to join such a mess
Inter also need a good CB because if you saw their last game, Bissek is terrible and Pavard is out. But they can offer CL and we’re still paying for the clowns’ mistakes from last season…
We should have gotten Lindelof. He was free I think and probably would want to join. At least to have more defensive coverage.
I mean realistically his options were play in ucl and not lowering his wages, or lowering his wages to play in an Allegri circus with no direction and no ucl… we’ll done management, you’ve made us undesirable to Quality targets
