AC Milan were considering a move for Francisco Trincao this summer, but it appears that he will be headed elsewhere.
When Ruben Amorim was first confirmed as the new Milan manager, links to several of his former players emerged and Trincao was among the first. A player who knew exactly what was wanted in his attack, it seemed a no-brainer.

However, links have gone a little cold recently with the focus elsewhere.
Trincao to Saudi Arabia
As Fabrizio Romano (via Calciomercato.com) reports, despite the links to the Diavolo, the Portuguese is likely to head to Saudi Arabia this summer, with the club focusing elsewhere. Indeed, Al Ahli have made their move and it seems difficult to see it being overturned.
The Saudi Pro League club have chosen him as their replacement for Riyad Mahrez and talks are in an ‘advanced’ position currently, with a fee of €50 million being discussed as the likely final payment.
Of course, considering Ruben Amorim’s early view on Christopher Nkunku, it is not the worst news ever. Milan, ultimately, would’ve focused on his arrival if it were a major priority to bring in another winger/attacking midfielder.
With Trincao open to moving to the Middle East, it seems like a deal could be finalised shortly.

First of all, Nkunku shouldn’t be a starter at all. Secondly, he is/would be much better as a left AMC, we need a left-footed player now to play along Pulisic behind Ramos. Thirdly, singing a
right AMC is already a huge priority for MILAN,

Nkunku has been one of the best players for milan in the second half. He should be a started in my view. if he plays in that prefered attacking mkidfield position i think he will shine. Iv watched him and he will come good this season, just you wait and see. Id rather play Nkunku then Leao at this point.
Nkunku can’t play on the left, we have Pulisic there, and he can’t (shouldn’t) play on the right said either because we need a left-footed guy for that position. Personally, I’ve got anything against the guy but he shouldn’t be a serious choice for a starting attacking midfielder whatsoever no matter which part of the pitch we are talking about, he’s pretty perfect for a reserve option.

I assume that we can now focus on Alajbegovic on a much lower price than Trincao. I understood that 30 mil would be enough to get the deal done.
Alajbegovic-Pulisic in CAMs ( Nkunku/Cisse-Chukwueze subs)
Zaniolo would be the ideal backup to bring in if Trincao goes to Saudi. Not the same high ceiling as Trincao but same profile, knows the italian league well, and is italian so he count as a homegrown player. 15 mil for him seems like a no brainer?
