Albania FA president would be ‘doubly happy’ as a Milan fan if Broja joins

By Euan Burns -

The president of the Albanian Football Federation has said that he would be ‘doubly happy’ as a Milan fan if Armando Broja signed for the club this summer.

Speaking during an interview with Sportitalia (via Calciomercato.com), Armand Duka showed just how highly he rates Broja, who is one of the most important players in the current Albania set-up.

The Chelsea striker has been linked with Milan for over a year now, for both loan deals and permanent moves.

Those flames have been fanned again this summer with Milan seeking a young striker to be Olivier Giroud’s long-term replacement.

Duka actually is a self-professed Milan fan and he thinks that Broja is one of Albania’s most talented players ever, and he therefore would love to see him join the Rossoneri this summer.

“He is certainly one of the greatest talents in the entire history of Albanian football. I am a Milanista and if he were to arrive at Milanello I would be doubly happy. He would undoubtedly be the best and strongest coup Milan could make in the summer market,” Duka said.

“The boy has incredible qualities and I think he hasn’t yet shown what he can do. He needs to play at club level and I think Serie A and AC Milan represent an excellent opportunity for him to rise to the top of European football. He will be one of the best strikers in Europe. I am convinced that he is ready to experience Italian football and if that happens I think it will be a success.”

Joshua Zirkzee has seemed to be Milan’s primary target for the attack this summer but complications over the agent’s commissions and the interest from Manchester United means that move is far from a certainty.

A whole host of other names have been linked and Broja would be one of the more accessible deals for Milan to complete given he is not a key player at Chelsea.

  1. Tbh as far as I dislike it, if the rumour about Morata is true I can see us sign him.

So our striker next season will be :

    Morata (main), 13m
Broja (young striker with bright(?) future) 15m?
    Jovic (back up)

    This is quite possible lol

    1. quite possibly yes. With Morata you know what you get. He is known quantity. Broja, i think is the type of gamble we take, albeit riskier. Look at Pulisic, RLC cases. Talented for sure, but either inconsistent, or injury prone or something else. On their day they are great, but they arent at their best all the time, which is why they were cheaper. I think both turned out to be good gambles, Puli more so than RLC. Broja fits in the same boat. The kid was good, like really good before the injury. A bit lazy like Leao a few years ago but nothing that cant be fix. But since the injury he has not been consistent and it is much more difficult to get back to 100 if you arent as hard worker as others. He looked rather uninspiring at the Euros. So, talented, yes, still young, cheap, still with potential. The type of gamble our club takes.

  2. He has immense potential, among the most potent telents in the world. But he is very lazy, even more than Leao. Imagine lazy Leao and lazy Broja playing together.

      1. He had a big injury some time ago, but that does not mean he is injury prone. He still is among the fastest players around. He needs to play regularly to restart his maturing process, given that he is still young and needs to get experience. Vs Italy he did not do much, but he was not served well by his team anyway. Vs Spain we did well, though Raya made a good save to deny him.
Since Milan do not have the money to buy a quality established striker, they can choose a young talent to develop him. Ofc Fonseca should have the final say on who that player should be.
