Inter have the opportunity to clinch the second star against AC Milan tomorrow, now just one win away from the Scudetto. As highlighted by the Rossoneri legend Demetrio Albertini, a defeat tomorrow would be unacceptable.
The Milan fans are already in a very bad mood after the defeats against Roma in the Europa League quarter-final games. Obviously, tomorrow’s game also holds a lot more significance than a derby usually does, as Inter can take their tally up to 20 Scudetti.
Speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport (see photo below), the former Milan midfielder Demetrio Albertini shared his thoughts on the derby. He stated that he’s considering turning off his phone, knowing the Nerazzurri are the clear favourites.
“I won’t be at San Siro. I’m considering turning off my phone and turning it back on in case of victory. Otherwise, I need to warn my Inter friends now: you won’t find me for a week. Jokes aside, this derby must be won.
“It would be unacceptable for a true AC Milan fan to see Inter celebrate the scudetto tomorrow. This must be clear for the players as well, who missed an opportunity by drawing against Sassuolo and now found themselves in this situation,” he stated.
Stefano Pioli is expected to rely on the usual starters for this game, with Tijjani Reijnders back in midfield, and it remains to be seen what the response will be. The performances against Roma very truly dreadful, so the fans are right to be worried.
We can’t watch either if the score’s…you know.
A real Milanista.
