Alesi admits he wants Milan to ‘have some regrets’ about departure: “Gave my all”

In recent years, AC Milan have had plenty of regrets with players leaving the club and Garbiele Alesi hopes to be among them.

Whether it be the first team or up-and-coming gems, Milan have lost plenty of players that they had high hopes for or had a lot of love for. Look at Sandro Tonali, who combined both worlds; the club have never really recovered from his departure.

However, when you look down to the Futuro – a project that was started to empower young players and make their path to the first team clearer – there have also been some pretty big losses.

For example, Mattia Liberali, who left for Catanzaro last summer and could now play Champions League football next season with plenty of interest in him.

Alesi’s admission

Speaking to Sportitalia, Alesi discussed his progression through the Primavera and his eventual departure from the Diavolo, where he joined Catanzaro like Liberali, as Calciomercato.com relays.

“From a certain point of view, I hope they have some regrets. I honestly don’t have any because I always gave my all during my journey in the youth sector until I arrived at Milan Futuro, and now I’m proud to play in Serie B with Catanzaro.”
