Alex Jimenez’s move from AC Milan to AFC Bournemouth has now been officially confirmed by both clubs.
Over the weekend reports emerged stating that Milan and Bournemouth had shaken hands on a deal that would see the Spaniard head for the Premier League. Now, the official communications have arrived.

Alex Jimenez to Bournemouth: Official
Bournemouth write on their website: “AFC Bournemouth is delighted to announce the signing of talented full-back Álex Jiménez on an initial loan deal from AC Milan.
“The 20-year-old defender, regarded as one of the brightest young prospects in European football, joins the Cherries with 34 appearances under his belt in all competitions for Milan.”
After signing for the club, AFC Bournemouth’s President of Football Operations Tiago Pinto stated: “Álex is a highly regarded young player who has already shown great promise at AC Milan.
“We are delighted to bring a player with such talent into the club and we believe he will be a strong addition to our squad. We’re looking forward to working with him once he returns from international duty with Spain.”
Meanwhile, Milan write: “AC Milan can confirm that Alejandro Jiménez Sánchez has joined AFC Bournemouth on loan, with an obligation to make the deal permanent upon the completion of certain conditions. The Club would like to wish Alejandro all the best for the coming season.”
So, the statement from the Rossoneri confirms that it is indeed an initial loan deal but with certain conditions being met it will become a permanent switch for the former Real Madrid man.
Well that was worthwhile.
And all those minutes denied to Bartesaghi whilst they developed this guy.

The utter pointlessness of modern football of which AC Milan is the biggest proponents of the absolutely soulless waste of space.
You want Milan to develop this guy for Madrid ? Then you really not smart enough , do you remember Diaz …. Getting 19 mil for this guy is a good deal , and yes Madrid can match this price 19 mil if they want ( he just. Needs to play in 50% of their games not that hard ).
If they don’t buy him then Madrid can buy it for 12 mil .
It’s really not our player and we would risk a deja-vu in Diaz here …. Good job to Tare and co for not making same mistake twice .
Well if he was a Real Madrid player then what were they doing developing him at all?
Every second he was on the pitch, or in training or anything was denying an opportunity to for another player that the club did own from developing.
But of course they’ve got zero interest in developing players.
They just expect to sign some nobody, and for them to magically perform, and then to be sold on for a profit.
It of course rarely works because that is completely unrealistic and unprofessional.
These are supposed to be elite athletes.
Every second counts.
You can’t afford to faff about.
Anyone care to elaborate on what those certain conditions are?
If it’s Bournemouth doing well then there’s a chance.
If it’s appearance based then I suspect we’ll see him back in a year. Very talented guy but needs some coaching and the Premier League might bite him. He’ll have a great coach at least.
It’s a shame losing him. We really never owned him anyways as Madrid had the ability to bring him back just like they do with Nico Paz. Very smart business for them but not for us. Issue is we haven’t upgraded, instead have weakened ourselves for a bit more money. Typical American hedge fund vulture capital mentality. That’s the saddest part of Milan being owned by these mob. We slowly are losing our essence.

I feel Real’s buy back clause was always the issue in his development. We needed him to do well but not well enough to improve his value beyond the buy back. It was a lose lose for us and him but highly advantageous for Real. That really should have been sorted out better (him and his agent also take some blame there too). And clearly he has talent and also needed fame time.. I think he’ll do well with proper game time like Kerkez, and cue future articles of missed opportunity 🙄
