Santiago Gimenez arrived in January with a heavy transfer fee, and so far, AC Milan have not seen it paid back. So, another striker could arrive.
There needs to be time and faith with Gimenez. After all, moving from the Netherlands to Italy is a big step, and we have seen that it takes time to truly develop; look at Tijjani Reijnders, for example. Nevertheless, Milan cannot really wait.
So, it seems that another No.9 will arrive in the summer, and it is due to requests from Massimiliano Allegri, according to Calciomercato.com.
The names and needs
As the report states, Gimenez is not ‘100% fit’ for Allegri’s idea, it seems, with his technical and tactical needs falling slightly short. That is not to say that he is bad. However, he needs more guarantees, it seems.
So, Allegri has asked the Rossoneri for a striker ‘of the highest level’ to complement Gimenez, and there are three names on the list.
Firstly is that of Dusan Vlahovic, whom the Livorno coach is desperate for. In fact, since his arrival, there has been significant talk of his arrival, with the idea growing in feasibility, it seems. However, his salary will be the issue, if there is to be one.
Then, the Rossoneri are considering Darwin Nunez and Mateo Retegui. Both are on the market for a higher price than what the Serbian would be – €45 million for Nunez, whilst Retegui’s departure requires a figure of €35m.
Reflections will continue, and Gimenez will have pre-season. However, it would not be a surprise to see another striker arrive.
These are completely different strikers. This list looks odd. What I would like is to understand what kind of striker Allegri wants.
Unfortunately you don’t sign his cheque.
“So, Allegri has asked the Rossoneri for a striker ‘of the highest level’ to complement Gimenez”
Proceed to scout Darwin Nunez…
just buy Osimhen, and ⭐⭐ guarantee
Retegui is way more than 35 million. It’s Atalanta we’re talking about.
Atalanta players don’t play as well outside of Bergamo usually. Not to mention, Campocannoniere? Milan would never shell out.
Osimhen would be the best choice, but no way Milan will bring that type of money, also I think he wants to play in a different league
Retegui is a systemstriker. He dont be succesful in Milan
Wont*
If they truly want to negotiate, we can adopt the Man Utd model to sign Osimhen to pay in instalments.
Osi brings an entire circus off the field – something Milan definitely don’t need, since our management is plenty “circus” as it is.
Milan need to stabilize.
So all that money for Gimenez was for nothing?
Not really. It’s good to have somebody who has proven himself and has scored a lot of goals. Except I have no idea why nunez is there.
He may play with two strikers in some matches, Gimenez alone can’t be two strikers obviously.
just like “All that money for Chukwueze for nothing?”
The theme under this management.
Jonathan David is free and has for 3 seasons consecutive 20+ goals
I feel like if nunez came to Milan he would explode here. But if you want a guarantee and someone who can lead. Aline with power then it’s osimhen. Vlahovic has same characteristics as gimenez and is not better.
I don’t know how Milan field two strikers while Leao is on the field AND maintain a balance in transition.
Osimen is the only answer to milans attacking problems..
Praying the management gives him a great midfielder who can free him to score
I think they best stikers to sight would be either Osimhen, Lucca, or Mateta.
