Massimiliano Allegri’s second AC Milan exit could end up being a very messy matter, according to Daniele Longo.
Just over a week after his dismissal, the Allegri issue continues to be a hot topic as a real tug of war is taking place between the coach and Milan. He was sacked last Monday and very quickly reached an agreement to take over from Antonio Conte at Napoli.

Allegri-Milan to the courts?
Reports have surfaced since suggesting that there was a deal in place with Napoli before the season finale against Cagliari. Gerry Cardinale could therefore accuse him of having acted out of turn, voiding any potential severance payment. Daniele Longo explained things on his YouTube channel.
“Massimiliano Allegri disputes the manner of Gerry Cardinale’s dismissal because the certified email arrived four days after RedBird’s announcement, and above all, he demands a severance package for himself and his entire staff,” he said (via Radio Rossonera).
“Gerry Cardinale points the finger at the Livorno-born coach, guilty, according to him, of reaching an agreement with Napoli before the match against Cagliari. He considers this a great detriment to the club and the team.
“We shouldn’t be surprised if this matter ends up in court because the dispute is very, very heated and the tone is harsh.” On the one hand, Cardinale refuses to pay the severance pay. On the other, Allegri continues to demand a sum of around €2m.
So, how can this whole situation be resolved? Longo tries to answer this question: “I believe the parties will try to find a compromise, but the situation is quite tense.”

why am I not surprised that Allergi plan backfired?!
As far as i know Milan sacked Alegri, so Alegri didnt broke any contract. Cardinale is just bitter cause his cheap ball plan failed yet again and just tries to shift the blame to Alegri out of anger. The idiot just can’t accept that mooneyball is not working over and over again and just keep making excuses. He sold Tonali and Theo, ruined an already established team, he has only himself to blame.
So it’s OK to negotiate a deal with a competing club while still under a contract for the current club? You know there are rules about club NOT approaching people under contract that is valid for over 6 months, right?
Why do you think contracts even exist?
Ironic that Cardinale says he won’t pay Allegri because he was talking with Napoli prior to end of season.
Yet there are reports of Milan meeting with Iraola weeks before the Cagliari game.
Let’s be honest Gerry. Nobody wants anything to do with your sinking ship and Ibra-led clown show.
You said all the right words.
The rules say that’s OK. Clubs can negotiate with anyone who doesn’t have a valid contract longer than 6 months.
The one thing I have to credit the current Milan is:
at least we’re not bored.
I haven’t been this entertained since Real Madrid turned into WWE.
This isn’t entertainment. This is masochism …
So, if Allegri is still under contract there is no need for any compensation for him. He can stay under contract if he likes, Milan should just stick to their position and wait. Allegri has no choice really, if he wants to go to court he will miss the Napoli job.
Of course, if clowns actually sent them a termination letter that is cancelling their contract Allegri has all the leverage.
As I understand it Red Bird “terminated” the contract of everyone let go. So I assume they’re all entitled to additional compensation.
Seems like Furlani is still owed the most, 10 mil or so.
But it will all come down to what the lawyers negotiate.
Yes, but they could have just removed them from position and not cancel the contract. So it is completely different. I don’t know which one it was.
The clubs (and businesses) know how to act under this situations. Sure, they might use the word “sacking” while it’s actually just “relieving of duties”. When it comes to NOT paying something they know how it’s done. About football… That’s another story.
Really hope allegri wins in court.
Cardinale bro, I can see u r in pain.
Just sell the club and Allegri is not gonna be a problem for u
Talked to Iraola for weeks and still missed out on him. Competence at its finest
Allegri should be in prison!!
No matter what anyone says Sacking Allegri is better than Milan missing champions league so cardinal should just let it slide
Allegri is an empty head who knows nothing
this Cardale is really frustrating for everyone, right?
This is Never a good team
