AC Milan are left with two options for the front two this weekend, and Massimiliano Allegri is in a bit of a difficult position with it.
This summer, the depth of the squad has been regularly questioned, and now there are just 19 outfielders available for Allegri to rely on. However, it is his own doing, considering he wanted a squad of only 22.

Nevertheless, Milan are now facing the consequences of this, even if it did allow greater movement in the mercato.
Allegri stuck
As Corriere dello Sport write, via MilanNews, Santiago Gimenez and Christian Pulisic, the ‘oceanic attack’, will start again this weekend. However, they have been left with no choice regarding this, even after returning from international duty.
Their fitness has continued to improve, and they are getting sharper regularly. However, they are also the only two options for the weekend. Ultimately, Rafael Leao cannot play due to his calf injury, and Christopher Nkunku is not yet 100% ready.
So, the pressure falls on those two, though, there is not exactly any backup for them. For example, even Ruben Loftus-Cheek is being considered as a striker. It is not a crisis just yet, and Gimenez and Pulisic could play very well. However, it is a difficult position to be in a few weeks after the mercato shut.
If it’s “oceanic”, that means the attack is going to be “fluid”.

I am dreading this game. Why? Because Allegri will go full Allegri ball and pull Pulisic back to mainly play far from goal and defensively and leave Gimenez as the lone outlet.
So they knew they only had 3 “strikers” and knew they’d be playing with 2 in 352 but spent over 40 million on a guy who can’t play 30 minutes OH but Bonifice failed his medical? AND they kept a guy that no one wanted who can’t play in this system. So we’re a Milan without a 9 for the first time in 100 years and we have 2.5 strikers…awesome. Let’s just play a 3 6 1 or 2 7 1 with Pulisic up top lol who cares anymore…Let’s completely re-invert the pyramid and just go all out 1 2 7 just leave Gabbia back there and try and score 10 goals a game lol.
Who is the player no one wanted? Also, keeping players that don’t fit the system was stupid. When you hired Allegri you knew what you were getting
He is talking about the Geminez transfer situation . Geminez refused to do the transfer and basically blocked it (I guess it’s in his contract to have that right.) so he is saying a player not wanted by the club.
