AC Milan and Massimiliano Allegri have finally reached an agreement to terminate his contract so the coach can join Napoli.
According to Calciomercato.com, yesterday at around 15:00 CEST the final meeting took place. The press releases are expected today. After a disappointing season of two halves at Milan which resulted in a late collapse and being sacked, Napoli have chosen Allegri to take over from Antonio Conte.

Napoli awaits
Allegri will sign a three-year contract worth €4.5m net plus bonuses per season today and will be tasked with leading the Partenopei into another Scudetto race and making progress in the Champions League, without overhauling the squad and with targeted transfer investments.
The coach will be tasked with evaluating and possibly revitalising those who failed under the previous management like Noa Lang, Lorenzo Lucca, Rafa Marin and others. For Aurelio De Laurentiis, Allegri has always been the first choice, despite frequent discussions with Vincenzo Italiano.
Allegri’s departure to Napoli is also good news for Milan because – as La Repubblica report – the termination helps ease the club’s financial burden. The contract ended with the payment of the final June salary to Max and all his staff who are also leaving (except for Maurizio Trombetta and Aldo Dolcetti).
The latest mediation between the parties ruled out the possibility of a severance package for the coach. Allegri, who was fired on May 25, had a contract with the Rossoneri until 2027 with a salary of €5m net, around €9m gross. Finally, the soap opera has come to an end.

I’m rubbing my hands in anticipation. It could be the beginning of the end for this nascent Napoli cycle. If KDB was complaining about Conte’s football, I can’t wait for this. McTominay will want out too, as will Hojlund, and all of the wingers.
But this guy is a two time UCL finalist. Why did he stop playing that brand of football? People call him a dinosaur but there’s a time when Juve under him were brilliant to watch.
Almost a decade ago though. You are as good as your last performances. And his last performances with Juve AND Milan were absolutely dreadful.

Tactics are a constantly evolving thing, those who don’t grow fall behind and that is exactly what happened. Allegri’s tactics worked in the 2010s but he hasn’t kept up with the modern game.
Milan needed that severance money to overpay for Ramos.
