Massimiliano Allegri was asked a few questions about matters away from the field during his pre-Cagliari press conference.
In his presser prior to the season finale, the Milan coach was asked what it means to have the ownership – more specifically Gerry Cardinale – so visibly close to the team during the decisive moment in the campaign.

“I’ll say one thing, which is the most important thing. The club must always be the driving force behind everything. A strong club certainly gets everyone working better, and it’s easier to achieve results. The foundation of those results depends on the club’s performance.
“The club is the driving force behind everything. The ownership has always been there for the team, and recently they’ve understood its importance and have been even closer, and we’re happy. Tomorrow we hope to win and secure qualification for the Champions League.”
There has been talk in recent days that Allegri could reunite with Adriano Galliani, who is believed to be one of a few candidates to replace Giorgio Furlani as the CEO.
“These are corporate dynamics. I have to focus on being a coach, which isn’t easy. As for corporate dynamics, the owners have to focus on doing what’s best for Milan.”
In addition, Igli Tare’s name has been in the headlines over the past couple of weeks. There have been some sources that are adamant he is leaving, while others think Furlani’s exit is good news for the Albanian.
“I repeat. I’m the one who has to weigh in on the club dynamics. Right now, with 30 hours to go until the most important match of the year, talking about Allegri, Tare, and Marco is pointless,” Allegri said.

“The first step is to finish the season in the best possible way and then start next year with even more ambition. Even when we started this year, we had the ambition to do our best. If we’re third now, it means we weren’t up to competing for the Scudetto.”
