After their 3-0 win against Bologna, Massimiliano Allegri has given the AC Milan team a three-day break from Milanello.

A lot of positives can be taken from the win last night. Against a struggling Bologna side, who are still a European contender, Milan did everything right, scoring three goals and keeping another clean sheet.

As a result, the squad will now be given a reward.

Rest day(s)

It is nothing new for the team to be given a rest day after games, especially when they have done well. However, Allegri has opted to offer his team an unfamiliar three-day break from Milanello after the win last night, as MilanNews reports.

Whilst they did turn up for a recovery session this morning, they will not be required to turn up for training until Sunday afternoon. Of course, the Rossoneri are not in action this week, due to the postponed game against Como.

So, there is no need for the squad to overexert themselves without a fixture to work towards this weekend, especially after a busy month. Instead, it will be a chance to rest and recuperate, which the players will surely be grateful for.

It could also be a chance for the Diavolo’s calendar advantage to start playing out. Whilst Inter play four times in 14 days, Milan only play twice, which could be a big aid.

  1. I’m not a fan of this given our history of being caught out in subsequent games after a good result. We seem to pat ourselves on the back too much. We need momentum.

    1. Can’t do anything about it if you don’t have games to play. Blame the league for screwing up Milan’s schedule.
The next match is against Pisa on Feb 13th.
Then Como midweek and Parma on the 22nd.
      That’s 3 games in a 9 day span.

Let the players recuperate before they charge into those matches.

  2. 4 important players to get healthy, 3 with muscular problems and a broken toe to heal! The break comes at a great time.

  3. Great.. i hope they really take time to recover, visit each other, talk to thier families and spend time on thier mentals to get 100%.

theres nothing better then getting rest.

    kind regards
