Since there has been a lot of talk about his future in the last week or so, Massimiliano Allegri has clarified his future with AC Milan once and for all.
While the narrative never took off from the most reliable sources, there was still some concern about the Milan fans. After all, if Allegri were to leave in the summer, most would agree that the Rossoneri would be back to square one (yet again).
Obviously, this is something that Milan should avoid at all costs and in recent days, reports in the media have suggested that Allegri is set for a pay rise. Indeed, the Rossoneri want to move things into ‘phase two’, which also includes more of a say on mercato movements.
Clear words from the gaffer
During today’s press conference in view of Milan-Inter tomorrow, Allegri was asked about his future once again due to the aforementioned exit rumours. However, he made it clear that he has a contract until 2027 and that he is happy at the club.
“I’m tied to Milan with a contract until 2027. The future is tomorrow, then the Sunday after that. I’m happy at Milan, I’m very happy.
“We started a project in July, the club is working towards the future. But until we reach that goal, we have to focus on the present. We haven’t achieved anything yet; Milan must return to playing in the Champions League,” he said.
