This summer, one name has appeared more than others: Dusan Vlahovic. Since Massimiliano Allegri’s return to AC Milan, the idea has always been present.
A move for Vlahovic feels obvious. His time in Turin looks to be coming to an end, so naturally, an exit is likely. Where better, then, to move than to Milan, where his former manager now resides? It feels like a given.

However, nothing has been done. The parties have spoken extensively, but there has been little movement. The finances have been wrong, as has the timing. But the loss to Cremonese has triggered a bit of an emergency.
Vlahovic’s position
There is a need to react, and this is why Allegri met with the management at Casa Milan this morning. In said meeting, the idea of two strikers arriving was discussed, with a move for Victor Boniface looking increasingly less likely.
One of those strikers that could arrive was Vlahovic, and Tuttosport, this morning, writes that Allegri is ‘continuing to insist’ on his arrival, as relayed by MilanNews. He has been at the top of the wishlist for months, but concerns about his salary have hindered a move.
Now, though, that luxury may fade. After all, the proof is in the pudding; the Rossoneri need a number nine, and his agent has been contacted.
Conte didn’t win a title at Napoli because Giovanni Manna and De Laurentis found bargains and got those players instead of who Conte asked. Lukaku was 31 and expensive, nobody blinked to spend 40M on him.

He makes 12 mil per season at Juve. Are they gonna continue to pay part of that wage? Is he gonna take a pay cut?
I don’t think the transfer fee is the problem. It’s his wage bill.
And the 15 mil signing fee he´s asking on top of the transfer sum. Vlahovic management knows that they´ll get the signing fee anyway next year when there´s no transfer fee left to pay so why would they drop it now?
I hear ya but its a sign if hes an Origi-type, if he doesn’t convince his agents to compromise.
This is World Cup year, if he languishes on the Juve bench because he doesn’t want to sacrifice earnings (thats his choice sure…) then clearly he doesn’t care about career just income. In which case we should avoid.
Personally I believe he cares about representing his country and doesn’t want his career to effectively be over at 24 , so I think we could find a compromise he’ll agree to.
I think the fact that all the PL teams who have been eagerly seeking a CF this summer (Liverpool, Arsenal, Man Utd, Newcastle, Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Brentford, West Ham) haven’t even pursued Vlahovic at all, even as a backup CF, is very very telling seeing as the majority could easily afford 200k per week
Allegri was at Gerry’s dungeon door at the whistle after last night to demand Vlahović.

Embarassing to say the least. We KNEW about his past injuries no secret. Why waste time on this player then? So many other strikers off the board and now we are left with very few. I would have favored moving forward with the transfer as it was a low risk (loan 5M with NO obligation) high reward scenario IF he stays healthy. AND still go and get another striker (Vlahovic). BUT I guess we passed. So now we have Vlahovic as the only choice. Watch Boniface score 20 goals for Bayern this year and get sold for 50M in summer LOL.
I don’t understand our aversion to the striker position. The most important position on the pitch and we always WAIT till the last minute of the window to get someone. Makes no sense. That’s one position you should not be looking for bargains.
AND – We STILL NEED a CB as we all saw from yesterday’s game.
Just get Vlahovic at this point and quit fkn around trying to save a few dollars. Beggars can’t be choosers at this point when the season has already started and we are already down a game. Yes he makes 12M which is crazy but Juve have already paid 3M/months salary for this year (July, Aug, Sept) – so we would pay 9M – still too high – BUT if he really wants to play w Max and Juve really want to dump his salary – I’m sure each party can sacrifice 1.5M each to get this done so we are only on the hook for 6M/season this year. Unfortunately this is what happens when you constantly WAIT WAIT WAIT – you end up in a situation where you may have to take a deal that’s isn’t ideal….
