Allegri insists Inter are Scudetto favourites over Milan amid ‘easier schedule’ and ‘confidence boost’

Max Allegri, the former Milan manager, and his Juventus failed to come away with any points from their game against Inter yesterday despite many chances. A game that has more or less ruled them out of the Scudetto race.

The Bianconeri are now seven points behind Milan and Napoli in first place, which could increase to ten points tonight as the Rossoneri will face Bologna. One could argue that they are out of the race as a result of yesterday’s loss.

In his post-match interview, Allegri was asked about the Scudetto race and gave his take on which team is the favourite to win. Inter have the easier schedule on paper, which prompted the manager to say the Nerazzurri.

“Inter remain favourites for the Scudetto, the fact that the schedule is much easier than that of Milan and Napoli is enough. Had they lost tonight, everything would have changed, but tonight’s victory will be a great confidence boost for them,” he said as cited by MilanNews.

It remains to be seen what the outcome of the race will be but it’s clear that it will be a very exciting one. A lot can happen in this season finale and Milan will be looking to assert themselves tonight.
